Legend Hitting too easy this year?

I've always been a Zone Hof hitter for the past few years. I skipped 2019 and didn't play much last year, so I've gotten worse. But this year I've had to move up from HOF to Legend, and I'm still dominating/finding it too easy. I strikeout enough, but I just find that I really get a hold of the ball super easily.

Small sample size, and playing with the Cubs but anyone else feel the same way?

100 % It's been too easy to square up pitches, and the ball really seems to carry. The post from one of the developers in the patch 1.05 thread pretty much confirms for me that this may have been the approach to match the 2019 MLB season.

I'll be adjusting sliders at some point. (currently on default)

It definitely is much easier this year. I too was zone HOF last year, but lost interest in my franchise because I had an unrealistically good record with the White Sox, so I planned on moving to legend this year. I have, and hitting is much easier than expected. I’m 4-4 in spring training even though my ERA is worst in the majors. My batting average isn’t overly high, but I lead the league in HR.

I noticed it right away. I've been able to mitigate this issue and get it dialed in for me with sliders fortunately.

Use max the pitch speeds and lower the timing one or tow clicks and tell me if batting is too easy.

I’m playing on dynamic difficulty and this is the first year that I’ve ever reached legend hitting. I’m using the Jays and find patience really paying off this year. I’m having huge success in 3-1/3-2 counts.

Use max the pitch speeds and lower the timing one or tow clicks and tell me if batting is too easy.

I recommend having pitch speed sliders on breaking balls one notch below the fastball slider

I mean the thread was asking if people felt it was too easy, not that we can't fix it. But I already get blown away plenty. It's more of a too many solid hits / the cpu being too predictable.

I do fee like it is easier than most years. Been playing the show on and off since 08 but have not played in a couple years. Was going to start on hall of fame but decided to go with Legand.

That said I feel like its good for me because in RTTS I have my slumps and I have my good streaks. Im hitting like you would expect a 19 year old in the pros to hit. Im happy with how legand default is but I also feel like its easier than previous years. This is the first time I feel like legand difficulty is perfect for me though. normally its HOF or HOF with some slider adjustments to make it a little bit harder

I'm starting to get this impression as well, over the long haul as a Legend/Zone player who's player-locking Jason Heyward as something of a test. But there is one option I want to explore before sliders - Legend+. My numbers are high, but not inhumanly high, which means a small tweak - like a half difficulty step - might be all it takes to bring things in line.

Basically, he's playing like a hitter who's about 10-15 points higher in batting ratings than he actually is - that's what I mean by not inhuman. Put another way, his WAR at the end of the first half is 5.6, and he's among the 90+ OVR position players around the league in that category. It's not just the HR's, which he blew by his career high in May and currently leads the league in at the ASB, it's just hitting in general. The most telling stat for me is avg. vs RHP, because the auto lineup generation only had him start vs righties. At the break he's hitting .321 against them, which is almost 50 points higher than his career split. That wasn't showing any signs of slowing down , so I feel like it would have ended up pretty close to that if I played out the whole year.

I believe the HR numbers are partly a byproduct of the high average (and too much solid contact in general), and that's why I think Legend+ could have a big impact there. Walk and strikeout percentages look fantastic and right in line with career averages, which is always good to be able to get and lock in consistently on zone. That's why I don't want to mess with sliders as a first option, particularly the pitching sliders if I can help it - it wouldn't take much to disrupt the walk/k ratio.

Early returns on Legend+ have been pretty promising - compared to the white-hot start I got off to on Legend I'm cold this time, but still walking and striking out. So I like where this is going so far.

I’ve personally been toying around with legend, the only change I’ve made is solid hits at 4. I’ve really liked it. There is too much solid contact as you’ve said.

There’s really not that huge of a difference this year between HOF and Legend. Last year it was like night and day.

Yep. And you'll have to build it up to that level to start playing on it. The way I got there pretty quickly was doing play now's with one of the Legend teams vs a AA squad, and only doing the hitting while fast forwarding my team's pitching. Also maxed out the DD progression slider while I was doing that. Once I hit Legend+ I zeroed that slider, which freezes me on that difficulty.

I'm having a blast with this now. For the first half month I slumped hard with Heyward, with the average dipping as low as .150. But on April 24th and 25th in a series against the Phillies it's like a switch was flipped. I went 3-4 with a near cycle, and another 3-4 the next day, raising my average by about 50 points in two days. Later, on May 8 I actually DID hit for the cycle in 9 innings (although the game went extras), and when I stopped last night on May 15 the average currently sits at .270 with 8 HR's. Whether it was me adjusting to the higher difficulty or Heyward just starting to play up to his ratings, I couldn't say yet. But I will say the slumps and streaks can get pretty intense on this difficulty.
