    MLB damper your Show hype?

I'll preface this by saying I put in 50-60 hours from launch to about Mid May. But since then, the bleak outlook has just killed me desire to play the game.

    Am I alone?

I get what you’re saying and I can see how it’s made the game unenjoyable.

For me though it’s made it so much more fun. I’m not worried about stats at all and I’m just playing and having fun with it. Getting my baseball fix.

Last year I discovered Bacons Fictional Rosters and have been rolling strong with those. Honestly I have been playing more without "Real" Baseball going on. Really is quite liberating to be able to play without the constraints of the real world.

Though I did start a completely CPU controlled franchise with real rosters. When I am puttering around the house or reading, Yay Quarantine SMH, I will set the game to play itself. So I still have Baseball playing in the back filling up the quiet times.

Giving the current state of baseball and what seems like an impending strike/lockout after 2021 coupled with SDS lack of attention to franchise mode the past few years has really made me question if I should just move on to another sport in real life and with video games.

Not for me I have a fictional franchise I just started that's entering it's second season and a Mariners save from last year which is heading into year 3. For me as soon as I start up a franchise in any sports game it becomes fictional and what happens in real life is separate.

100% agree. It hadn’t really bothered me until the last week or so but it’s starting to get to me.

I’ve been getting this feeling that owners care less about the game than I do, so it makes me question why I’m so invested. It has nothing to do with the Show, which I am enjoying more than any year since probably 09. If I hear one more owner cry poor I’ll puke.

I always tend to play games most when that sport is in season. With the virus and now the “lockout,” I was worried my interest in The Show would suffer. I just like to have the real thing going while I’m playing the game.

Some days I have no interest whatsoever but thankfully - especially in quarantine - my interest in The Show 20 has sustained and I play almost every day.

No MLB hasn't taken away from my Show experience. It has been my happy place with everything is going on in the world. I'm 46 yrs of age. I have every version of MLB the Show & never played it so much.

Its early June & no MLB games. At this moment i won't be upset if doesn't take place. MLBTS will suffice for me this year.

I'm utterly ensconced in my fictional franchise and have every intention of getting through at least 2 seasons (playing every pitch) before MLB21 comes out.

I've been SO absorbed by it that I really haven't missed the real thing all that much.

Re: MLB damper your Show hype?

Coronavirus has, though it's got very little to due with the lack of real baseball. I have so much more free time on my hands, which encourages me to play more single player story based games.

The Show I'll play a game and then put it down, it's great when I have an hour and change of free time, but other games I like to sit down for 2, 3, maybe even 4 hour sessions. All this time I've been digging into my backlog, and the Show had been left high and dry.

Also my friends have a lot more time on their hands, so when I'm taking a break from single player story games, I'm playing a lot of online games with them. None of them play the Show. It's been a lot of Overwatch, Deep Rock Galactic, and Forza Horizon 4.

I do miss the Show a bit but honestly this has been great (from a gaming perspective). I haven't played this much in years, perhaps ever.

I'll be honest I haven't touched the Show since maybe early April.... just haven't had the desire to be invested in baseball the same way this year. I'm a baseball is my number 1 sport kind of guy, live for it....... but i'm just so annoyed and bitter right now with the players and owners.....

i've played some Baseball Mogul on the PC, but that's because I can do great historic recreations and historic rebuilds, since they have all the historic draft classes and players

No, quite the opposite. I'm playing The Show now more than I have in a long, long time. With no real baseball to watch, and frankly not much of anything else either, I really don't have anything to do after my wife and kids go to sleep other than play video games. And for now, The Show is my only new one.

I'm 110 games into the 2021 season, playing every pitch. And I also played about 30 games in an earlier franchise, before restarting once the first few patches came through. I'm on pace to finish a full season faster than I ever have before.

MLB has dampened my respect for owners and players but my Show-time is business as per usual. also it's a good time to play with some classic historical rosters
