recently I threw 20+ pitches in 1 inning with Alex Cobb but didn't give up a baserunner, 3 up 3 down, and a few foul balls mixed in. but that was an omen of things to come, he got shelled in the next inning, I had to take him out after allowing 3 straight homers on 3 pitches. you want to say quality over quantity but after awhile the quantity will affect the quality

I had a "next inning" clue recently when my pitcher got the first 2 batters out on 3 pitches, but the other pitcher came to the plate with 0 contact, 0 vision and 0 discipline but it ended off being a 14 pitch AB before we finally got the guy out.

Well, next inning the sky fell.

very glad this didn't happen to me. so cannot afford to break any more controllers right now
