RTTS player batting gloves keep defaulting back to "none" no matter how many times I select "both" and save---never wears them in game..anyone else experiencing this? playing on ps5

Yes I noticed that too. Maybe you need to unlock some gloves before being able to use them?

Please take it easy on me if this is a dumb question but is Road to the Show (RTTS) the "career" mode of The Show? If so, is it heavily reliant on online interactivity or can it just be a fun, semi-simulation offline experience?

I guess I just want to know if I can create a character and carry out a standard career from the minors on up without any silly online requirements getting in the way.

For perspective, I'm a huge basketball fan who hasn't been able to handle NBA 2K MyPlayer for years because of the cheesy forced storylines and centralized focus on online head-to-heads to build up points.

I don't have the game yet so can't say for sure, but when they showed it in the franchise stream there was a tab for MLB stats and a tab for Minor league stats on each player card. I can't remember if it was both AA/AAA combined or a tab for each. They showed Casey Mize in the stream

No, it’s not. Check the follow up posts.

On hybrid presentation, you still have to hit L2. On broadcast presentation, you don’t.
