It plays great! BUT... between the bunting problems and the 3 batter minimum rule, there are so few decisions to be made.

I just edit everyone to good bunters as a work around, but I wish they’d have an option around the 3 batter minimum. You just get your starter through the 5th or 6th and then bring in a fresh pitcher to start every inning. It’s like slow pitch softball... through no fault of SDS. I guess I just hate the new rules.

This is the best bunting has been in a while for me……. It was literally a automatic out for the lead runner every time last year, I’ve laid down a ton of successful sac bunts this year

Yea I’m seeing a great variety of bunts this year compared to last few years. Some nice bunts, some bad bunts that are DPs but not automatic like last few years.

I don't bunt a lot but I've only had one bunt to date where the cpu went to second for the force and there were two reasons that play was triggered:

1) my runner at first had lower than 10 speed.
&
2) I didn't deaden the bunt by letting go of triangle at the point of contact & rocketed the bunt right out far enough the third-baseman had plenty time to go to second first.


bunts are still harder off the bat for my taste but as bunting is a lost art & I don't bunt a lot anyways (mostly just pitchers with less than two out & runner on base)

still, it's way past time the Studio added a global Bunt Slider to the other sliders and the online crowd would still be forced to use default sliders & if anyone offline wanted near 100% bunting success they could have that option

Speaking of three hitter rule. I just got caught because I forgot about the rule lol. Tried to bring in a lefty to face Bryce Harper and couldn’t because my righty only faced one batter to that point. Luckily I still struck him out.

There IS strategy in the three hitter rule. You look at the first 3 hitters coming up and have to decide....do I want the lefty because of Harper, or roll the dice? I don’t have a problem with it at all.

There is still strategy, but it's certainly not the chess match it once was. I personally hate the new rule, but whattayagonnado? The game is still the game.

Definitely agree with Caulfield about the bunt slider. That would be a godsend. For now, I let Quick Manage take care of my sac bunts in franchise. It ain't pretty, but it is dependable.

To me it just removes so much action in IRL. Teams don’t especially run or bunt even any more and so it’s a lot of strikeouts and HRs.

To me a mid-inning pitching change (the chess match) was SO much of what made the game interesting, I’d just like the option to toggle it for offline play. I was at a game where there was a runner on second in extras and the opposing pitcher walked all 3 of his batters and he was done.

I forgot who it was that I brought in as a PH to bunt in a BR game, they had 80+ bunt rating, but I ended up going for the sac bunt and getting a single as my bunt blooped over the 1B's head and I had runners on first and second with no outs.

Bunts are far and away too hard off of the bat. I also had a guy try to bunt on me over this weekend and my 3B had to run back to the OF grass to catch it for a popout.

I’ve had a good mix of really bad bunts(too hard) and some really good bunts right in the front of the plate or dribblers down the line.

Yeah I would say that I successfully pull off a sac bunt 7 out of 10 times and a majority of the time when I am unsuccessful its do to a popped up bunt versus bunting too hard leading to the runner at second getting thrown out.

The CPU is also better this year at not trying to force a play at 2nd which leads to both runners being safe.
