Re: Favorite hitting views and why?

My favorite view is the one I'm best at, and for some unknown reason that seems to change from year to year. This year I'm using The Show 16. In the past I've mainly used catcher High, wide and Fish Eye 2.

Either Retro or The Show 16. When I struggle with one I switch to the other. Usually retro for the most part though.

Re: Favorite hitting views and why?

I use this custom view. I tried to do something offset so that RvL and vice-versa actually felt a tad easier than RvR or LvL much like real life. I also made the camera be offset and at the angle it is so that I can't spit on borderline pitches as easy. No angle can replicate the actual feeling of being at the plate, but this custom camera allows me to see the stadiums, the batter, and be at an angle that adds some of the natural difficulties of hitting while not being frustrating. I can still identify pitches and have a good eye, but it's still tough enough that if a pitcher is on against me I will struggle.

I know for me that when I use the standard centered cameras or other traditional game cameras that I can identify pitches too well and that takes away some of the fun of hitting for me. I've always thought one of the most interesting things to watch in a game is the hitters who have a good feeling for the strike zone in that moment or seeing the guys that don't. This angle allows me to go through stretches where I have a great feel for it and some stretches I have a terrible feel for it much like real baseball.

Re: Favorite hitting views and why?

Been rotating between Fisheye 1/2 and Offset 1/2. I like being able to see the whole field on fish eye, but the pitcher looks a little small, so when I get in a bad slump I try to switch things up. Keeps the game fresh

Offset 2 is my fav, been using it for years. I love the angle I get depending on lefty or righty batter. I can read pitches well. Works for me

Re: Favorite hitting views and why?

I'm a fisheye fool. I need to see those fair-poles. I would love to be able to function with a camera zoomed as close as I could to get a perfect view of the pitcher but unfortunately I never could adjust to the timing and gave up on that years ago

Favorite hitting views and why?

I use a “custom” version of fisheye 2. I zoom in until 1st and 3rd are on the very edge of my screen and rotate it down to see low pitches better.

I like it because I can get a nice view of the ballpark too as well as turn base runner windows off.

Re: Favorite hitting views and why?

Retro. I feel I can judge balls and strikes really well with retro because it’s straight on the pitcher. The sacrifice is depth perception though, but with practice it’s fine.
