Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Very first rule in the book: "A game shall be composed of two teams of nine players each."
I'm also old-school and prefer DH-less baseball but that hasn't been the rule in the last 50 years lol
now the number one rule seems to be ''what can we do to bastardize Cartwright's intention next''
if (and my working assumption is it will be), if the DH is indeed available in the NL in Play Now games,
our friendly neighborhood caped crusader can turn his attention to getting devs to have the umps in Play Now revolve through each ones prospective turn behind the dish. the easiest way to do this is make it random. as it stands, in Play Now games, there is the same ump behind the dish every time, depending on the crew that works each stadium

“our friendly neighborhood caped crusader”
Made me laugh out loud lol
My next order of business is getting Online Franchise returned to the people of Gotham. Did I just turn into Bane?

I hope the DH always remains an option to turn on or off. I’m old school and traditionalist NL pitcher hitting person.
While we’re at it, I’m still hoping for the ability to turn off the three-batter minimum, too.
The fact that we could turn off the extra inning runner last year gives me hope that more of this type of customization may arrive in the future.

absolutely. any time the Studio incorporates a new IRL rule into the Show, they should code it where you can opt out of the new rule and still use the old. I wish I could still use 25 man rosters for my 80's era classic historical rosters instead of the newer 26 man rule. but that is only a very minor annoyance compared to the dh, shifting, extra inning runner on second and 3 batter minimum for pitchers

Whilst I agree with the concept of letting the user toggle rules on and off, the 3 batter rule is one that would require two very different AI management logic sets for it to work. That’s potentially a lot of extra code to maintain. DH and extra innings runner don’t require the same type of logic. These would be easier to manage I think.
I know there’s only 10 days left before release but it’s insane to be we still don’t have a concrete answer about all of this. Transparency would be nice.

They developer provided transparency In the interview. Basically said they are looking at it and not sure if it'll make it in
My thinking is that if there’s universal DH in franchise, that means every team and league has DH.
Why wouldn’t think translate to Play Now?
Common sense would say it would also be in Play Now mode but who knows.
