that is all. It rewards power swinging timing only way to much. its absolute joke that timing only is even an option, directional is RBI enough as it is. you cant have a competitive setting for online then allow timing only.

how so?? if all you have to do is time it and the other person is using zone. theres a clear advantage to not having to know where the pitch is located. But OK!

zone users (good zone users) have the strongest online advantage.

go watch any high level mlb streamer and repost the names of the ones NOT using zone batting.

A skilled zone user can have Austin hedges hit like Barry bonds. There’s no advantage using timing/directional you can’t even compete with a competent zone user.

Yea all you have to do is time the pitch. With the smallest timing window of any of the hitting options. Which is completely based on player ratings. So good luck hitting on a competitive level with a poor offensive player or team. People complain about directional the same way. Without even understanding how they work. To put things into perspective on zone I hit on HOF or legend. With timing or directional I hit on all star.

What does online streamers have to do with timing only being an advantage. it takes away an aspect of the game. Maybe on higher levels but these lower levels where guys just uppercut power swing all game is trash. k 20 times and hit 5 hrs with 5 hits.

so if im mixing up pitches and pitch location, it doesnt matter to a guy using timing only on all star. Cuz they dont have to worry about location. and with 99 contact and 99 power guys with above average vision. its an advantage, even the online streamers actually have to aim to hit the ball. In an online peer v peer it should be the same or not given such a huge crutch. Try hitting with power using zone. You can do it with timing only and ife you get lucky a few times a game its a hr, not just a hit but a hr. usually on pitches not even in the zone ore where the PCI reaches.

Timing takes out the PCI placement, but makes the timing aspect the hardest of any of the interfaces. And it's based on ratings. Timing is harder to use than zone for most players (the timing on Zone hitting is DRASTICALLY easier).

Also, timing isn't new. Using Timing is exactly the same as using Directional and not influencing the direction. That's been in the game in previous years, and no one is thinking that's OP.

I switched to timing years ago after I hit 30 HR with Skip Schumaker, who probably didn’t hit 30 HR in his career.
Timing takes into account the players attributes not the gamers skill. Play what is enjoyable to you. If you think timing is kicking your butt online, switch to timing and even the odds.

I would confidently say that this game is being ruined by zone hitters and strike zone cam. This is not a first person shooter...no baseball strategy goes into placing your pci over the target ala duck hunt. Would be great if they gave a sim option with directional or timing and a casual option with zone.

I mean, this may be a newsflash to the OP, but…there is a timing element with Zone. On top of that, those with better “stick skills” will always beat someone with no “stick skills” on zone. And as has been said, if you really think timing presents an advantage…switch to it and find out for yourself that it’s not.

I would confidently say that this game is being ruined by zone hitters and strike zone cam. This is not a first person shooter...no baseball strategy goes into placing your pci over the target ala duck hunt. Would be great if they gave a sim option with directional or timing and a casual option with zone.

This makes no sense as its a competitve game, user vs user. There is baseball strategy to looking high fast ball and reacting to the pitch. Real hitters dont swing in same location and hope thats where the pitch is.
Timing only is for RBI...and NES games.
the pci is pretty much your bat, you need to make contact with the bat to hit the ball. I can just time fast ball every time and anytime its a fastball i rake no matter the location.

Did you ever even play baseball at any level?? even grade school

Exactly...zone users have TIME the pitch and LOCATE the pitch at the same time. User vs user should be based off stick skills and not CPU doing half of it. Do you just hike it in madden and let the CPU take over??

And just because the streamers use zone and are good at it doesnt mean every single game you play online has that skill. Id rather play the streamers than timing only, cuz then its more like real baseball and a chess game as opposed to one person just timing the pitch and getting lucky, esp usually power swing only.

so the CPU overiding pcu on directional and timing, of players with 90+ ratings, isnt an advantage over the human eye??? lol
