Coors Field gameplay is a disaster

What in God's name did SDS do here? This ballpark I know produces more offense in general but it's completely over powered. Box score below is a game where I pitched for both teams for slider testing purposes. Yes, I switched controller every half inning.

Fluke game? I don't think so. The ball physics is so drastically different that it is visible and extremely noticeable. The outfield plays very large and spacey irl and this is replicated to an extreme in this game.

I always felt SDS did a good job replicating how it is to pitch there but over the last 2-3 years it's been overblown imo. And this year just takes the cake. To play a full season with the Rockies would be a nightmare and so unrealistic.

I remember my closest ever no hitter on MLBTS was at Coors Field with Ubaldo Jimenez to tell you how long ago that was. The gameplay was perfectly balanced at that ballpark back then. It's gone downhill probably since and now it's out of control.

If I were going to play there any significant amount I would have to have separate hitting sliders for that park to nerf it. I really hope SDS can patch something to tone the ball physics down to just like every other park. The OF playing spacey and big just like real life I'm okay with, but does need some work to tone it down as well. It's constant XBH and hardly ever any singles.

Sorry for the long rant but for a game that is so good and realistic they make playing here feel like arcade mode. Really need SDS to take notice and go back where it once was years ago on the game.

Not stating an opinion one way or the other but which difficulty were you pitching on?

Any chances it could have just been "one of those games?" I just got done playing a conquests game at Coors Field and it played exactly like every other stadium I've played in so far.

I'm into mid-May in my Rockies franchise and I haven't seen any games remotely close to this one at Coors Field. Perhaps you need a bigger sample size?

Allstar+. Cpu contact at 6. Their power and solid hits both at 4. Played numerous games testing these to gather data. Everything looking great until I played in Colorado. Obviously 40 hits isn't every game but my feel for the game is pretty good and I am betting if I pitched only a good 15-20 games in Colorado, the total combined hits would average in the 20-25 range per game.

Just for reference, next test game the box score was 2 7 0 and 7 7 0 in San Francisco.

I have gone between Analog and Classic, mainly using analog. I pitch on Hall of Fame with CPU contact down one and Human pitcher control down two.

Depending on what pitching interface you use. And imo hard to compare DD to franchise games which is what this was.

I think you've got to play more than one game to really know. I mean, hell I had a game where I hit 7 HR. And it was Miami. Not exactly a hitter's paradise. Sometimes it happens.

Yeah and that is comparing apples to oranges between you using analog and me using strictly classic only.

You're right. But like I said, I have a pretty good feel for this game from playing for 10+ years now. When the ball physics is noticeably different there's not much you can do. I mean when they hit the ball I was thinking fly ball out so many times only to see it keep going for doubles and homeruns lol. It was visible to me which I can't say I ever experienced in this game.

Perhaps, but I believe it also lends credence to the claim that Coors Field is not a "disaster" by default.

True since analog is the default pitching interface.

To be fair I'm going to play another the same way. Pitching only with DeGrom and Freeland within a franchise.

                              Mets 11 18 0 (1BB 6K)
                              Rockies 0 3 0 (1BB 6K)

I mean it went about as expected. I was very good with DeGrom and with average to below average pitchers (bullpen) I got what I expect average results will be in Coors Field. Mets CF robbed a homerun early. No wind this game.

                              DeGrom 7ip 3h 0er 1bb 6k

Mets- 4 doubles, 2 homeruns, 12 singles. So the hit distribution was perfect at least.

Anyways I digress. Imo it's a problem with this game and I will expect if I'm not pitching with 85+ overall pitchers I'm going to see an abnormal and unrealistic average amount of hits and runs scored in this ballpark.
