Interesting. How will Brock hold up to another dangerous striker? It will be very interesting to see how/if he adjusts.

I'm looking forward to seeing Carwin back in action. His last fight was against Mir, right?

If everything holds up, it should be a pretty good night of fights.

His loss to Lesnar was his last fight.

I'm hyped to see Shane back in there!

I was so sick of hearing how unbeatable Brock was after Brock pulled a rabbit out of hat against Shane.

IMO Shane will beat Brock the next time they fight, assuming Carwin has stayed in shape and focused.

Re: UFC 131 (Vancouver): Lesnar vs. Dos Santos

I think this fight is more important to Brock than any other fight in his life.

If he doesnt come back strong and WIN, he's gonna forever have this reputation as a big superstrong man that can't handle technical striking high stamina guys

IMO dosSantos is very similar to Cain, just much taller, and a brazilian fighting background
he's definitely not as quick, but he wont be taken down easily by Brock, and if he does, he'll know more what hes doing in guard than Cain would (BJJ)

As much as I like Brock, I dont see him winning this fight, I dont think he's had enough time to improve his standup/clinch game as much as he needs to, nor does he have that much actual mma experience, and JDS has been grappling/fighting since he was a kid (its a HUGE cultural thing down in Brazil)

NOW, a Cain-dosSantos fight could possibly be the best HW fight in MMA history; I may even splurge and buy a ticket to see it live, big maybe
          PPV for sure, a given...

Cain was able to handle Brock because Cain is a supreme wrestler who was able to get out of Brock's take downs. I dunno about Dos' ability to do so. But yeah, I think Brock could go nighty night because Dos' power is top notch.

              Who?

Apparently he hasn't fought in 5 years.

Carwin will straight up murder him on the feet, but if he doesn't end it early and Lactor Acid Monster shows up again he can be tapped by Einemo easily.

dude c'mon, everyone knows cain is a supreme wrestler, but if he were to strictly wrestle Brock (only wrestle) he'd get his butt whipped
Brock is the best Wrestler in the UFC hands down
Cain has superior cardio skills and is far more balanced than Brock, thats his big advantage
dosSantos is almost the same as Cain, a brazilian version 4" taller and maybe 5 lbs. heavier
he doesnt have the cardio and speed like cain, but he has more BJJ grappling exp. than brock & cain combined
i've watched every one of JDS's fights (via netflix) and i tell you, the guy will kick Brocks ***, and probably defeat Cain or come awfully close!

I don't think so. Obviously he will kill Brock on his feet, but Brock WILL be able to take him down. He got Cain down, but he just got up by scrambling. JDS isn't as good a wrestler as JDS obviously. The key will be to see if JDS can get back up.

I don't get why you're harping on Brock being the best wrestler hands down. That means little to nothing if you lack other skills.

Anyway my thing is, I don't think Dos Santos and Cain are as similar as you're making it out to be. Dos Santos will get the chance to prove if he can keep Brock off of him like Cain was able. Dos Santos is more of a brawler than Cain, while Cain is much more of a wrestler. I honestly don't get why you're saying they're the same fighter. In fact you pretty much said it yourself that they're different.

My money is on Dos Santos to knock him out or stop him due to strikes on the ground.

i dont doubt that JDS will win by TKO or KO, and their (JDS-Cain) similiar in the way of fighting Brock, I think dosSantos will handle Brock the way Cain did. JDS isnt as fast, but he has the superior cardio Cain has (see Roy Nelson fight) and is more powerful and just as good on the ground (we just havent seen much of that yet, he rarely gets taken down)

I actually like them both (brock-JDS) a lot, but I just cant see Brock winning this, in fact I'd be surprised.

another loss, and he'll just have to learn more and balance his game, and work his way back up, thats what i see happening here
i hope brock proves me wrong

Brock has Diverculitis again. Shane Carwin will step in for Brock and face Junior Dos Santos at 131.

That sucks hopefully he can get himself healed up. Dos Santos v. Carwin is an excellent consolation prize though. I wonder what happens with the dude that was scheduled to fight Carwin??

Man, that sucks. I hope Brock can get that straightened out, but as he said, there's no real "cure" unless he opts for surgery. The surgery would likely end his career, though, so I guess it's something he'll have to deal with until he's done fighting.
