Nick Diaz ends retirement and wants to fight Anderson Silva

Wow......style wise it would be a pretty good fight since Nick will stand & bang the entire fight. Could he beat Anderson ? Hell no....but it would be an entertaining fight.

Nick would get led to slaughter and I say this as a really big fan of Diaz's fighting style.

Nick is not very fast nor is he very athletic, so he would try his punches in bunches combo like he always does to wear guys down. That would lead him to be eating Anderson's precise, laser counterstrikes all day and because Nick is so tough he would end up looking at the lights multiple times. Most guys don't hit as hard as Anderson does so the whole take one to give one strategy isn't that great of an idea. I would think that if this fight happens, it might end up like Leben status..

It would be exciting and it would be a ballet of violence but it would probably be a one-sided beating. It'd be great to watch for sure though but the UFC can't really justify this superfight as is. But with this also said, war Nick Diaz for having the guts to want to fight the very best.

Why does he deserve to leapfrog an entire division he has never competed in? It's not like he's a long time champ like GSP. He lost an interim title match to Carlos Condit. He should need a few wins at Middleweight before even sniffing a title shot. Give him Munoz, and Sonnen before a title shot.( He wouldnt beat either one)

Anderson is literally the worst matchup for him. No head movement/lateral movement plus no fear of takedown for Anderson = Diaz getting KO'd for the second time in his career.

he isn't asking for a title shot. He wants a catch weight fight against Silva.

            Give it to him.

I'd love to see Anderson shut him up.

That would be such an awesome fight! I love the Diaz bros, they are funny and entertaining and pretty damn good fighters as well. While Nick won't stand a chance against Anderson, it'd be one hell of a fun fight to watch!

It still wouldn't shut him up. It'd be great to see him get KO'd though, and maybe Shields/Gil/Nate can jump Anderson after the fight! I'd still take Anderson though.

Very true. He'll always talk, but hey....maybe Anderson could make him look as scared as he made Chael look when he realized he was on the ground about to get killed.

Lol, everytime Nick's name comes up, I just love reading through the posts. Entertaining as heck. People act like he's personally offended them and cursed at their mothers

If anything Anderson's camp are acting like clowns again.

"Anderson has the biggest paycheck in the UFC, and you can't promote an event with these amateur kids that are coming up now," manager Jorge Guimaraes told Tatame.
GSP has business to attend to at his own division. He's not going to jump in to a ****ing fight with Anderson ****ing Silva coming off injury. GSP still has a wealth of contenders to go to war with.

I understand that Anderson is aging, and that you want to only make big name fights, but you don't call Chris Weidman an amateur. Lmao

I think the idea of @SpiderAnderson vs @nickdiaz209 is pretty good. Let's see what the @ufc thinks?Guimaraes told Tatame.

Seriously.....**** Silva and his handlers. He got a title shot after 1 ufc fight but Weidman had 5 wins and he doesnt deserve one? Dana needs to stop coddling his ***. Make the Weidman fight and tell Silva he fights Weidman or Jones or he's stripped. Silva isnt Lesnar or GSP. He isnt a big draw without Sonnen. Stop treating him like he guarantees 1 million buys.

I don't blame Silva. He's just doing what Dana allows him to.

Don't get me wrong, on one hand I actually appreciate the fact that Anderson's camp wants superfights or what have you, but you don't ignore someone like Chris Weidman. That's not fair.

But like I said, I'd kill to see Anderson against GSP or Jones or or moving up to 205 to make superfights...

There's still at least one more entertaining fight at 185 in Chris Weidman...

Re: Nick Diaz ends retirement and wants to fight Anderson Silva

                            Look, here's the thing.

When I first read the small news item, my first thought w.as a fearless guy with a serious attitude that is scared of absolutely nothing that walks on two legs (and most that walk on 4), and a very solid chin against Anderson? Perfect!

Then I looked a little closer. Diaz is not a defensive fighter at all. He was rocked by Daley for being an idiot and trying to walk through punches. In the end he prevailed, but he wouldn't against Silva; at least, not with that strategy. And have we seen Nick deploy any other sort of game plan? Ever?

That's where I stand on this.

Peppering, rapid punches that lack any serious threat to anyone that utilizes head movement against someone such as Anderson Silva? C'mon.

EVERYONE stands a chance in any given fight, but I do not like Diaz if this fight were ever to happen.

While I agree with you, when Anderson got a title shot in 2006, the MW division was extremely shallow. It is completely different nowadays. A lot of people seem to think Weidman should have 1 more fight before the title, make a "superfight" for Anderson, and put Weidman/Boestch in a title eliminator.
