Did it help him with Martin Kampmann? no way and Maia is one of the best if not the best BJJ guy in mma.

I honestly don't see anyone beating Maia and his style is the reason he is not getting a title shot. He could honestly beat anyone in the WW division buy just laying on them for 3 or 5 rounds but the UFC does not want that type of title fight.

I like Maia, but he gasses hard, fast. Rory beat him soundly and in round 5 of the LaFlare fight he got point taken because he wouldn't get off ground.

I really like Maia, but I suspect UFC doesn't want him as champion.

I'm pretty sure Maia would beat Lawler, if he didn't get caught quick, but I think Condit will beat him pretty bad. Rounds one and two might be difficult.

If I remember correctly it was round two when Rory started easily stuffing his takedowns.

I could be wrong, but if I gambled I'd bet the farm on Condit.

Now I will give you that, Maia does gas quick but this is a 3 round fight i think and not 5. If it were a 5 round fight then yes Condit would win, but I think Maia has some if not the best BJJ of all-time. Also his ground game is now evolving and he now does GNP and tries to finsh you or choke you, were before he laid on ppl a lot and just wore them out.

I dont think its fair to compare Carlos Condit 7 years ago to the fighter we see now. Plus, I dont remember the first Kampmann fight being a blowout. It was a SD and Condit smashed him in the rematch.

The thing about Condit, is he can't stuff a takedown to save his life.

Very interesting fight. Super excited for it.

Maia is one of my absolute favorites. I'd love to see him take out Condit and finally get the WW title shot.

Lorenz Larkin replaces injured Dong Hyun Kim and will be fighting Neil Magny.

That should be a fun fight. I like this matchup a lot for both fighters.
