Re: SimWorld’s 2k16 Fictional Draft Classes by CWSapp/Dreece/Blindside (XBOX One)
Top 5 International guys that have declared for the 2019 draft
Everybody sleeps on the international guys. This thought process has got to go. Some of the leagues finest gems are international guys. Yes, there is a transition phase that they have to go through. They have to learn the the NBA, the language, and the American way of life. What would the Dallas Mavericks have been without the Germany native Dirk? What would the spurs have been without its French dimer Tony parker? The list goes on and on. Lets break down the top 5 guys in this years draft class from overseas.
#1 PF Andrej Javorsek 6’10 210lbs 19 years old Slovenia
· Speaking of Dirk. Are you guys ready for Dirk 2.0? Well of course not. But the Slovenia Big man definitely has the sharp shooting traits of Dirk. He can shoot the ball amazingly well. The 19 year old big man can definitely come into the league and be a very reliable shooter off the bench. He is one of those guys you have to be patient with though. Remember he is only 19 years old. While he does have NBA height, he needs to get his weight up. But that comes naturally over time. He will get worked on by bigger guys around the league, but his ability to stretch the floor will make up for that. He is extremely versatile and can probably play the 3 if needed.
#2 PG Tuomas Kousa 5’10 180lbs 19 years old Finland
· Tuomas Kousa, my man. You guys like defense? I do. The Finland point guard can play defense. Right off the bat, you throw him up against a lot of point guards in the league and he will be able to handle his own. What I like about him though is the fact that he is a decent scorer and passer as well. Some defensive specialists bring nothing to the offensive end of the table. Not Toumas. Now lets get real, Toumas is definitely going to be a project, but I see him being a starting point guard 2-3 years into the league without a doubt. I project him in the second round, so that’s not too bad. His first year, he will probably be a teams 3rd point guard. But an injury is going to happen, and he’s going to get a shot with a team’s second unit, and people are going to hop on the Kousa Train! Believe that. I am well aware that he is undersized, but his heart isn’t undersized and thats clear on the tape. I see alot of potential with this kid.
#3 SG Yefim Krychevsky 6’7 220lbs 21 years old Ukraine
· I am a fan of Yefim. He is a strong shooting guard. He isn’t getting back downed by many two guards in the league. Of course the only two guard that backs anyone down is Kobe but he is long gone now. But he will be able to back down a lot of shooting guards in the league and has a NASTY post fadeaway. Like Kobe. Is he Kobe. Hell no. But last week in the Ukraine Championships Odesa was down 1 with 12 seconds left against the back to back champs Dnipro and Yefim showed up and showed out. He caught the inbound and immediately started posting up against Dnipro’s shooting guard. As the clock winds down to 4 seconds, he fakes right and turns left with the fadeaway to win the game. I thought i was watching a vintage kobe bryant highlight game winner for a second. He ended the game with 28 points and 13 rebounds. You can catch the highlights on youtube. He will take time to work on like Toumas, but you cant sleep on the kids clutch factor.
#4 PF Laszio Kocscis 6’9 215 lbs 20 years old Hungary
· A project guy. Simple as that. He isn’t a great scorer or defender. Can he become a great scorer and defender? YES. Why? He is athletically gifted. He’s going to come into the combine and put up top 3 numbers at the power forward position for every category. You can’t teach someone to be an athlete. But you definitely can teach someone how to score and defend. Somewhat. What he does bring to the table is his ball handling ability. He is going to "SAUCE" some guys up in the summer league with a crossover and end up making a team. I know "sauce" isnt a correct scouting term to use, but when you see him bring the sauce, you will know.
#5 C Drazen Bavcic 7’0 260 lbs 20 years old Bosnia
· Drazen is an elite rebounder. But that’s about it. And he will probably will go undrafted. Which is sad because he announced he is going to America to go pro to help support his family after the death of his parents by a drunk driver. Drazen is a hard worker, and has the size to play in the league. He shouldn’t go undrafted. This kind of size isn’t easy to come by. He is going to be top 5 in the summer league in rebounds. I hope he ends up getting drafted and shows all the teams that passed on him that they made a mistake. I am praying for your family Drazen. A lot of people don’t believe in you, but I do. Keep grinding.
