Pretty sure it affects on ball defense. The cpu tends to react and recover inhumanly fast with it. I've seen many rosters with it lowered drastically.

      lateral quickness????

It is essentially the "movement weight" slider. Set it to 0 and movement feels incredibly weighted. Set it to 100 and movement feels like gliding or floating. Just set it to whatever FEELS best to you! While it does affect on ball defense somewhat, you can still blow past defenders with this at 100 if you have the proper tweaks elsewhere (I.e. the On-Ball Defense slider)

What are you trying to achieve with lateral quickness?

I play exclusively with the Orlando Magic, and playing against Golden State, having lateral quickness for the CPU set at 40, and User set at 60. Bench riding CJ Watson crossed the heck out of Draymond Green and Klay Thompson with no problem coming down the court on a semi fast break.

"I highly doubt this would happen in real life."

The only changes I have made from Simulation default are lateral quickness, speed, and acceleration.

        I was testing lateral quickness.

My only frustration is with pump fakes, in no way should a defender who is up in the air be able to immediately recover and not allow me to blow past him, especially if its a BIG against a fast PG.

"Florida State, the only FBS Division-1 school to finish consecutively in the AP top 5 poll for 14 years. This is a record that no other collegiate football team will ever remotely come close to accomplishing again."

Lowering On-Ball Defense will fix the quick-recovery issue AND make it easier to get by your defender.
