Hey guys, in this thread I'll post sliders as I go through them. Aspiring to be a SIMNATION alumni but did not want to put that in the title so it's not clickbait.


I strive for realism and have a vague understanding of the complexity of the NBA game and everything around it.


I'll edit the post as I go through the sliders and explanation for them. I am on PC but you can just copy/paste these in your game


In grey is what I am yet to test and that is why there is no values as of yet.

Examples of players signing contracts in first off-season.

Irving signed a max deal, as well as KAT but only 4 yrs (much like KLove's first extension with Wolves) and Unicorn signed 6mil less than 4yr max deal with Knicks presumably due to injuries.

Brother these look great overall but there are some weird ones like Melo for 2 years 38 mil or Dirk for 1 year 9 mil. I don’t think either of them will get paid that much anymore lol. But they’re pretty good for the most part. Thanks for the great work man.

I mean there will be anomalys. Like I never thought Ariza would sign 15 mil contract at 33 going 34. There are guys that I could not adjust to without screwing over 80% of players. For example if I put player fame lower(so Melo signs for 20/2) then guys like Calderon, David West, Vince Carter will not get signed because they have lower ovr than 20-something 2nd round pick who also have some potential. Which is why you get Melo with that contract. Dirk IMO is worth that 9 mil contract, tho only for Mavs. I think that I put player fit at fairly high so some good fits will get overpaid which is how it is IRL with Redick, Ariza in recent years. Will have to check trades (which are painfully hard to do!) over the weekend, tho I have some preliminary sliders going about in my MyLeague

Yeah I get it man, unfortunately there is no such thing as “perfect sliders”. Anyway I appreciate the you work you put in man thanks. I will definetly use these sliders.

The descriptions for sliders are vague from 2Ks side so I don't know what effect will it have. It's all about trial and error. For example, 1st round pick value - I put it at 50 and it's worth 0,5 stars. I put it at 150 it's worth 3.5 stars for rebuilding team. Maybe it depends who the buyer of the pick? Like if I enquire about #1 pick as Hawks it's different valuation than enquiring about it as Warriors?

Yeah man and there is so many different factors and outcomes it’s crazy. It’s a grind for sure.

The contract values themselves dont look that bad, but where these players are signing is just laughable. Kyrie to Atlanta??? Dirk to Miami??? Middleton and DJ to Sacramento???

Thank you for these, 90% of these look pretty darn good. My issue is age - the enormous contracts that Deandre Jordan (30) and Dwight received (32). I know the system is probably looking at their overall more than anything. I guess outside of editing the potential for those over 30, this may be the best we could hope for. Wish age was a slider....

Yeah, but it's tough to say 'oh that's a solid deal' or 'that is one-sided deal' when you have PG13 trades that look crap at first glance but are win-win after a year and then you have Blake Griffin trade where a team lost a franchise player but it's bad fit for Pistons. I like it where they are at the moment with my test sliders. Bad teams do not let go of 1st round picks easily and good teams are more willing to part with their picks for players. Have to test some more and will post some trades in the thread today or tomorrow

Yeah, basically. At 50 there are 10-13 trades a year. At 59 there are around 15 trades a year which is closer with what we saw last year at 18.
