Who’s sticking with 2k23 this year?

Based on what everyone has seen so far with 2k24, is it enough for you to purchase it day 1?

Personally I will be waiting for a price drop or even wait and see if it will become free on PS plus, and sticking with 2k23. I’m an offline guy only, and they really haven’t made much of a change to MyNBA/eras for me to move on from last years game.

I want to wait but I doubt I will have have the self control to hold off. I might be able to make it to October before buying, but probably not.

I am forsure. For me with what MJWizards redid the game with full complete named players, coaches, etc

I took my time and set up four profiles, so even if the servers were cut off like 2k games in the past, I have x10 real draft classes for each franchise. The courts are hard coded for each era, although Generic there still authentic to there time.

Magic vs Bird Era, Jordan Era, Kobe Era and LeBron Era.

The new 2k24 looks cool, but I'm gonna hold off for now, maybe around Christmas I'll see how people are enjoying it and look to try and grab it in a sale.

These games are coming out faster, costing more and more and with not much change, some hype here and there but from what I've seen, after the hype wears off, it just becomes another game.

I'm blessed to have what I have, so I'm really content.

I'm super grateful to the creators who have shared there time in creating these different Era of rosters for all my sports Fandom here at OS.

Didn't like 2k23 all that much, so I'll wait to see how 2k24 comes out. If it's worth a shot this year, I'll wait till after the NBA season starts.

It's an easy buy for me like every year because I will get more than enough enjoyment out of it throughout the season. I'm an offline player as well, but each year there are continued refinements whether it is to AI or gameplay related. Gameplay is #1 for me by far, and as far as I'm concerned MyNBA has had more than enough juice, in fact I can't wait for MyNBA Lite to get rid of the fluff and get straight to teambuilding and playing. I think ProPLAY is a bit oversold in the blog/marketing, but it's still going to add a LOT of new animations and is a further step towards improvement and checking out the gameplay videos confirm that for me (2K basketball is still going to be 2K basketball).

I'll play for at least a couple hundred hours, probably will have some nitpicks in game design and default 2k roster ratings and rotations, but in the end there is plenty of value.

That said, for anyone who isn't a huge fan of basketball and / or follows different sports and plays 2K less frequently, then it makes sense for those to stick with 2K23 and wait for a deep sale.

I pre ordered today. Wont be playing much until I’m finished with starfield but I always love 2K franchise maybe no drastic changes but I’m fine with what’s there. Just hope Luol Deng and a few others are in 24

Passed on Madden so those dollars are going to NBA 2K24. 2K always puts more effort in to their game. The newspapers, Roundball Rock, ProPlay, scoreboard w ticker,, and Era improvements tipped the scale for me to preorder.

I agree w/ all of this. I wish the patches hadn't "messed up" the gameplay so much. Armors sliders WERE working great, but now there has been a small decline in gameplay (mostly shooting %'s).

I wish default sliders gave me what I wanted, because i hate messing w/sliders.

I’ve been using Schnadits sliders with a few tweaks to my gameplay here and there, and they play great!

I'm planning on sticking with 2k23 but my son wants to get 2k24 because he plays Rec and My Career with his friends.

I am not purchasing it but I may get to play 2k24 anyway if he caves in and pays for it. Definitely keeping 23 though. With MJWizards rosters already made unless 24 blows me away with gameplay improvements or fixes in MyNBA I'll go back to 23 even if we have both.

I've put in too much effort, using MJWizards rosters as a base to just ditch the game now. Have only really started playing properly the last few months. I can't face doing all that work across the 80's, 90's, 2000's and classic teams again. It's too much, unless we finally get a save port system from game to game, or 2K finally do what I've been saying for years - get the legends and all their sigs, playbooks, shoes and tendencies right just ONCE - we'll never have to worry about deep diving with them again, just to get them to play the way they did in real life.

anyhow, Judging by the gameplay, it doesn't look like much has really changed, anyways, in regards to old school teams and eras, so I'd say we're probably safe skipping until 2k makes some big moves.

Maybe I'll change my mind, who knows. Last time I did this was with 2k16 - skipped the next 3 years until 2k20 got it's hooks into me.

That is my one issue to I'm trying to find a shooting balance for me and cpu vs cpu. Armors sliders were really balanced but something changed after those couple patches.

I'm still using his but I'm messing with the numbers a bit.

I’m sticking with 2K23 cause it’s so good, graphics seem nearly identical, and being a Jordan fan 2K23 also especially appeals to me. ProPlay may have motivated me to update but being that classic players don’t get it, and me using mostly classic players (also being that I use all time rosters the juxtaposition of modern players looking so smooth and classic players using old tech will be immersion breaking).

Also I just can’t do another year of immense slider tweaks after every update screws up gameplay. I’ve got 2K23 playing so good now.

Mostly it’s because I spend many hours finely tuning and customizing rosters and it’s too time consuming. The game would have to be a huge upgrade for me to invest that time again after just a year.

I'm grabbing 24 Day 1 no doubt. But 23, will always remain in the collection. I normally transfer the old game into a hard drive once the new game drops. But, 23 will be staying.
