If You are a Off Line MyNBA Player Remove ALL Badges for Best Gameplay Results

I have been playing 2k a VERY long time and have edited it for over 20 years and I have finally come to the realization this Year that Badges Ruin Gameplay.

Badges make too many Forced Plays, instead of the AI playing Read and React Basketball. 2k24 is without a doubt the best basketball on the Court I have seen WITH all Badges Removed since NBA 2K14.

I feel Badges were created for the MyPlayer and MyTeam Modes Players to give them something to work towards. Yes they Give Players Boosts but the Boosts make the Gameplay suffer.

I challenge you all to try it and let me know what you think. If you are an Old Head, you know Me and know I wouldn't post this without testing my theory many many times.

I’ve done this for 22 and 23 and it certainly improves things. Better shot distribution. Greater frequency of taking open shot. Less running shot clock down and having to force bad shot.
I also turn off team chemistry which seems to reduce blow out games.

I did it for 2k23, but I was on PS4, now that I am on PS5 I see a huge improvement in 2k24 on the Court. Not sure if it's the Jump to Current Gen or the Game itself improving this year.

I've said this all along. There is no place for badges in the competitive sim scene in this game. That's why attributes are there, make them mean something.

If we're truly being honest, that's why 2k11 is STILL regarded as the best Sim experience in 2k history, because there wasn't any arcade nonsense, just straight up Sim ball.

No doubt, the more arcade elements you remove, the more grounded the game will play. I did this before and I liked what I saw.

From Your Roster Screen hit the Start Button it will bring up the Quick Edit Option and You can go Team by Team and do it.

I have a Roster loaded on 2k.Share that already has it done, but I made Rarings and Tendencies Edits as well.

Im definitely one for removing badges that replicate what ratings are supposed to.


e.g. If Curry has a 97 3pt rating Im not giving him catch and shoot, open look, claymore and corner shooter because he will never miss an open shot. Obviously IRL he misses plenty.

I like badges which add what the ratings can't. eg. the bulldozer badge gives us those shove away animation.

Also, theres no ratings that seperate spot up vs moving vs pull ups. I use badges to differentiate these players.

But Ill give what you say a try.

I have seen plenty of Bump Animations, but we could be talking about 2 different things. 2k23 I cut down to around to around 15 Badges I would use but still wasn't happy with it. So far I am very happy with the No Badge Gameplay.

Let me know what you think if you try it out. I do use My Custom Sliders as well.

Badge I hated the most was the rebound one. Opponents can literally throw you out of the way with no foul call just because they had a rebound badge. That was on 21 and 22 though. I feel like it’s not as bad on 24 as it was.

Can you post a video of some gameplay without badges? I don't own a game, but thinking whether I should buy it but mixed reviews is all I'm getting. Playing 2k since 2k9 as a simhead who plays and watches basketball and prefers offline gaming but starting to lose hope.
