But I have one major beef this year. Don't worry the Devs know about it. Last year they introduced the Disengage from the post up mechanic. It is probably the most underrated addition to the post control scheme in cycles. I remember when the post up button was Triangle (for you young bucks old there) Before last year, the only way to get out of the post up was the exit post releasing L2. Or Post Hop Step and then release L2 after the animation.

Look at all these different ways I got buckets using it.

The one thing I didn't capture (and add) was his on one legged jumper. It's not perfect to his in real life. But it's a good enough representation of the shot.

Just to add on top of this. So to drive to the rim while in post up. Forever it was Rotate the RS towards the direction you want to drive. They removed that and replaced it with the spin drive
So now you can spin drive 2 different ways. LS [emoji3595] or [emoji3596] and RS [emoji3490] or [emoji3489]. In my opinion I thought the Disengage Post controls was like the greatest thing 2K added to the post up game. Exiting the Post could only happen 2 different ways in the past. Release L2 or Post Hop back. I noticed in one of my videos someone was complaining about it not being intuitive to spin drive with the RS. That the drive should be in the LS. Should we just switch the Disengage to the sticks then? Why remove it?

Sorry I'm in my feeling about this one. Hopefully I get over it. I was probably the only person using it [emoji24]

Oh you can. You got to learn the pivots and how to shot fake. You learn those 2 and you'll be Hakeem dream shaking all night long.

You know what's crazy. Watching this video. Damn the post up controls haven't change much since 2K14 !!?? This same inputs for the dream shake are similar to where you would do for the current 2K

I tried Shaq, and of course he obliterates people. But the general feel of a 'going into you' shot is not good to me, even though it's definitely a shot you can green. You just need a little angle.


The problem is that it just feels wrong. A lot of the off ball contact and even the post up 'feeling' is weird. I dunno if that's due to pro play or what. But, like I said, it drives me nuts.



At some point, the strength/angle post up and drive game needs to be as good as the dribble game. I dunno why they still have these tired animations that look like your shot is being contested.

There is a part of me that wants to agree with you. Problem is for me it's still very early. I've been able to get good pay vs CPU at times. They definitely feel like they nerfed the spin drive overall. I'm still testing on that front. This might be in result of them removing post spin badge. I'm still questioning a lot decisions here. But I'm waiting a month before my final judgement
