I know for one thing. I don't use rhythm shooting with a player unless I'm wide open. I almost stopped use using it as a whole. But I know I hit at a higher percent with it.

That sight hitch in the catching animation throws me off with the stick so I just use the button.

And rhythm works so well with step backs and hops because you know exactly when the animation will start.
It’s almost impossible for me to beat the CPU on Normal risk. I just can’t make enough shots, and I don’t even shoot the ball with any confidence. Whereas on high risk, I pull all kinds of shots with confidence. Ha

I think that's a reflection of your stick skills.

Im the same. I couldn't hit **** on low. Much better on high risk. Im poor on stick skills, so I find memorising player jumpers (from only playing with one team lol) helps.

Im sure it's a contiuum from real player fg% to high risk. On low, your stick timing may be perfect, but the fact you made your previous 2 means the realy player fg % will kick in and you're missing.

This is why I’m torn. On one hand if I miss on high risk I feel it and know why. However on the other hand I know even on high risk there is some rng. I know they say there’s not but it is 2k. I know my skills are perfect one shot and then the next shot it’s very slow (rhythm)? There’s no way.

If you are interested in using your timing skills for making shots then you are actively gimping yourself if you don't use rhythm shooting as the green window is an absurd 70% larger when using it and the hit chance increases by about 10% when at least one of the two - tempo or timing - is excellent (so for example in Low Risk you pass from a 45% hit chance on slight early/late releases to a 56%).

Also if you are good at rhythm shooting then you are likewise greatly gimping yourself if you don't use High Risk. I personally never use High Risk on offline play because I prefer to have player ratings and shot selection being the main determining factor instead of how good I am at timing the shot correctly but if you like instead the latter then rhythm shooting and High Risk is assuredly the way to go in Nba 2K25 (in fact shooting becomes even too easy with it and for this I don't personally use it when playing offline or PNO; making 70%-80% of open 3s can be fun for park or comp play but it naturally has nothing to do with basketball).

I think that's the other thing that's been driving me completely crazy. It's seeing 2 of the category green and one white on Rhythm Shooting and it turns out to be a miss. Almost threw my controller across the room.

Recently I've been questioning if they will expand this to free throws and hook shots.

I'm also starting to feel that tempo is not registering in PNO.

This is primarily why I play on High Risk. I can take and make tough shots with scorers. Streaks and slumps feel a bit more organic for me.

I can’t knock down 60-70% of my shots like you all, especially on HOF, so the numbers honestly end up being pretty realistic for me in the end, lol

I've found myself shooting med range with the normal pull back and release. It feels good. But who knows what the stats are. I think that's the biggest problem. You can't back up anything. You have no stats to tell you anything. We most remember our failures
