Find players whose release you like regardless of rating but its recommended over a 70. I love Tyreke Evans shot and I get perfect all the time but get Slightly Early alot of the time with Lance Stephenson so I slotted him to the bench. Here's the lineup I run.

Zach LaVine (God Mode Literally)
Tyreke Evans
Carmelo Anthony
Jeff Green
Al Jefferson

How do you get rid of the shot meter? I have my shooting type set to real player % so that I won't have to worry about release timing or something, but this meter is still on for some reason.

It's in gameplay settings.

Does turning off the meter improve your odds at all? (Apart from the possible improvement from watching the release point rather than the meter.)

Also, I read about using a player's real-life shooting percentage instead of my (lousy) timing. Can I choose to have the CPU decide the release point for me, in effect? So that whether I make or miss depends not on my timing, but the player's real life stats? If so, how do you enable that feature for MyTeam?

No I don't think it does. I think it just hides the meter. I hate the meter.

Re: What is the "trick" to shooting?

After playing with the shot meter off for the first half of MyCareer I've actually turned the shot meter on to combat the shot fatigue. I find it helps a lot in the second half to find out how much I'm off on my shots and how much the game is ripping me off on my releases.

Does anyone else have the habit of holding the sprint trigger when shooting? Even on threes and jumpers, I always do it and when I don't for some reason the shots seem to miss more. It's probably in my head, but I don't know why I do it.

Finally turned off the "shot meter". Shot the ball a whole lot better. Good riddance! Sim balling shouldn't have meters anyway. That's more for casual players.
