Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
Yep, that's the very first thing I noticed when I started playing games after the first shooting adjustment. It's kind of absurd to me, to tell you the truth. -
Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
Had a game where I shot 11/20 from 3.
But my opponent was playing zone and leaving me wide open all game so maybe that's why.Comment

Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
You can't rely solely on the grades to assess which is a better shot. Shot grading is done on a sliding scale (so a 50% shot from 5 feet is a much lower grade than 50% from 30 feet.)
For a shooter with an equal 3PT and mid-range rating, a wide open 3 is higher % than a contested middie. But an open middie is still higher % than an open 3.Comment

Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
Prior to the tuner patch, an open midrange could net you an A- to and A+. Now the average is a B- to a B, with the rare B+, while open 3s average a B+ to an A.Comment

Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
That's the way it should be, but I've been testing this on wide open, no one even close to me midranges and threes. And, no exaggeration, I'm averaging consistently higher grades on open 3s than open middies. You can't rely solely on the grades to assess which is a better shot. Shot grading is done on a sliding scale (so a 50% shot from 5 feet is a much lower grade than 50% from 30 feet.)

Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
Beluba (Mike Wang), for Offline: Simulation vs Default sliders, how does the shot grade vary between the Midrange Success slider being set on 45 opposed to 50?
Hope this makes sense so I will know how to adjust my sliders.Comment

Re: 3 pointers better than midrange now?
I think that's what you guys might be misunderstanding.
A higher grade does NOT necessarily mean a higher % shot when you're comparing shots in different ranges.
As an example, the grade to % chance mapping might look like this:
"A" at 5 feet = 80% shot
"A" in mid-range = 60% shot
"A" in 3PT range = 40% shotComment

That explains why ppl arent seeing A quality midranges anymore thx for the explanation.I think that's what you guys might be misunderstanding.
