Wait. Wait. Wait. You can't turn off the Shot stick timing for layups?

Yo this is flat out not cool. I've been playing the past 6 or 7 years (or ever since they introduced the real % option ) with real shooting % on because I like to turn the names and all the shot meters off but now I can't make a freaking layup. So I think I'm crazy but I (While on Real shooting %) turn the meters back on and realize I'm missing all these hook shots and floaters and layups etc because I cant see the freaking timer. What a lame move by 2K to force this nonsense on an offline only player. Wow.

Unless I'm missing something this is a MASSIVE oversight on 2K's part...

You can play without the meter. It's not easy though. Per beluba you have to release slightly after the offensive player takes off for the layup. I feel like it gets inconsistent once you get into a contact layup animation.

      That is utter crap.

EDIT: Not mad at you, just upset 2K would shove something like this down our throats to make me have to turn all of this clunky looking UI back on.

Meter is horrible I agree, but you can play without it, that's what we do.

the layup meter is the best thing they have added in years, IMO. I like having control.

I also like having control of how I play my game.

The timing on the layups is a great thing. The meter doesn't give you more control it just makes things easyer.

It gives you control in the sense you are the reason you miss or make. Not some random outcome.

"Random outcome" random as in an attribute? Real Shooting % is in the game for a reason...as in obviously there is a certain crowd of people who would rather the attributes and NOT a mini-game bar determine whether or not you make or miss. Hence the reason 2K should have given us the OPTION.

It's not the meter that does that it's the fact that there is a timing on the layups. Meter is just there to make it more accessible.

I wish you can remove it as well. Should be optional.

If I understand the lay up meter correct, isn't it only helping you if you get it green? Meaning even if you mistime it you're not penalized it just goes in based on your lay up rating. Can anyone confirm.

Nope pretty sure you are penalized for bad shots....and for the record before anyone comes at me for not being "constructive" Im not saying the meter is good or bad I'm saying we should have had the choice.

Real Shooting % shouldn't even be a thing. It's should relate to the attribute. The fact there are two different settings is actually poor game design and undermines their shooting ratings which they have in place. So yes, just pressing a button with Real Shooting% is a random outcome. It's not using the ratings they have given each player.
