2K18 Footage Recording - Audio?

2K17 had the annyoing thing where anything you recorded with your console had no sound when rewatching afterwards.

Any info on this for 2K18?

Wouldn't it be easy to just manually turn off soundtrack playlist and don't worry about copyright claims or whatever the reason for no sound was?

I'd like to know that, too. In 2017, NBA 2K eas the only game with no sound, unbelievable!

Funnily enough, I found another game with no recorded game sound last week. None other than Fishing Planet which is free on PS Store.

This needs to be addressed. Those who stream and broadcasts games need the sound issue resolved.

What I don't understand is why 2k16 had audio for recordings but not 2k17? What was so "unspecial" about 2k16 audio component (songs or whatever audio portion) that allowed all 2k16 audio to be fully captured?

It's just strange that according to the response up in this thread that only two games out of how many does not allow audio also to be recorded. That means 99.9% of all other games has this "feature" and can be recorded with both visual and audio.

it seems to be an every other year basis..

2k14 next gen had audio when recording..

2k15 did not


2k16 did

2k17 did not..


so hopefully, if things stay the same...2k18 will indeed have audio

I think people who stream or make videos can find other ways to capture the audio.

But yes it would be nice if it was already there.

If 2k18's Prelude is any indication (PS4), then it's another year without audio on recordings. I was actually surprised to hear the foul whistle blow during recording playback. I guess the sound of a whistle can't be copyrighted.

If it doesn't have sounds it's a disgrace! What are you doing with all those millions you get and then give no sound for copyright issues?

I doubt 2k is the only game which has music in it yet they are the only game in 2018 which has no recording sounds! Unbelievable!!!!

I don't understand this. Like others mentioned, it's been in previous versions and NBA Live also has audio. I haven't heard one person from 2K comment on this at all.

It's unacceptable in 2018 with so many other games having the very same feature with music onboard..
