Is sliders the only area that seperate the difference between User vs. CPU?

Ok, this is the question all my friends and I have been discussed for quite a long time so why not post it up here to discuss with you all here...I am going to try my best to make sense lol

For the different difficulties, you can see the differences from the sliders, so let's just use a very simple example, for Inside Scoring at Allstar for User might be 50 vs. CPU might be 45, at Superstar for User might be 45 vs. CPU might also be 45, at HOF for User might be 42 vs. CPU might be 44.

This is actually how the sliders are when it comes to different difficulties, the separation between User and CPU gets greater as the CPU receives more advantage in the sliders' numbers setting. So the question my friends and I have is, is this the ONLY thing that separate User vs. CPU or are there back end coding that we cannot look at give CPU the advantage over User when the level is set higher?

Yes, there are other things in play aside from sliders that we cant control, like more quick reaction times, higher penalties, more limitations in terms of timed actions, better AI decision making, etc, etc.

I think it really is just bonuses to the CPU and penalties to player attributes. It would be too hard to code AI changes. For Madden you can actually measure speed penalties to your players on all madden.

For NBA 2k I just had an experience with this. I play in my career for the magic as PG. Because I actually know how to play IRL and where the passes and looks are I had 9 assist per game to 2 turnovers average. After the patch suddenly I found the Bigs cutting me off on pick and roles and playing me like a smaller guard in 1on1. That part I could still deal with, but my turnover rate shot up to 8 per game. I was screaming at the screen every game because my crappy Magic teammates missed or dropped 1/4 passes causing this. My team also had 30 turnovers a game because anytime the AI put it on the floor they lost the ball. After a 7 game loosing streak I checked settings and discovered post patch it switched from superstar to HOF. Now things are back to normal. With good teams like the Cavs you might not notice but the AI teammate drops and turnovers on a bad team were unrealistic and show the stat effects.

Incidentally the Coaching AI is no better on any setting. The same passes and options were there just my teammates couldn’t catch a wide open pass.

Nope, the cpu does not play smarter on higher levels.

Should be very easy to apply different ai "sets" on different difficulties from a technical (software) standpoint. This is more a design question/problem? Would you want to see the Warriors play "stupid" basketball?

Yep. I've been politely asking Beluba to find a way to produce a setting where all the advantages for the CPU are gone and there is a truly balanced, ratings based out of the box setting for the User vs CPU experience.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
