Many appreciated it, so I thought i would do it again with 2k18 and 2k19 timelines so we can line things up with when the news drops.

NBA2k18 release timeline :
May 8 - Legend cover athlete released
June 1 - standard cover athlete released
July 17 - new facial hair, haircuts
July 21 - Soundtrack
July 24 - first 2k18 screenshot
July 27 - MyLeague/MyGM Blog
July 27 - Aug 3 - Bunch of screenshot/rating releases
Aug 4 - feedback from gamers who got to play the game (gameplay feedback)
Aug 8 - graphics trailer
Aug 16 - gameplay trailer #1
Aug 16 - gameplay blog
Aug 18 - MyTeam draft mode/salary cap
Aug 29 - AI improvements blog
Aug 30 - offensive tendencies blog
Aug 31 - Prelude achievements leaked (big hints at what career mode will entail)
Aug 31 - MyCareer news (open world neighborhood, two archetypes, practice mode, etc.)
Sep 6 - Prelude trailer

June 4 - legend cover release (Lebron) and pre-order details.
July 16-ongoing- screenshots and ratings everyday
July 21 - Ghetto gameplay footage and impressions from youtubers
Aug 2 - MyLeague + MLO + MyGM Blog
Aug 7 - First gameplay trailer
Aug 15 - MyTeam trailer
Aug 15 - Soundtrack released
Aug 21 - MyCareer trailer
Aug 23 - Broadcast gameplay trailer (I.e. Kob commentating)
Aug 23 - 5v5 gameplay (Lakers/Warriors) released
Aug 29 - 5v5 gameplay (lakers/bucks, pelicans/76ers, rockets/warriors)
Aug 29 - The Neightbourhood trailer released
Sept 4 - MyCareer news (endorsements, contracts, progression)

If anything is incorrect or missing, let me know.

I know everyone is hungry for news so I hope this helps with expectations!

Most interesting is that we're at 2k20 timeline and usually we'd have heard something about the cover athlete. So far, nothing except the leaked D-Wade legend edition, but it wasn't confirmed I don't think?

I think they might make announcements during NBA award ceremony or NBA draft live

I'm not expecting anything substantive until August.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce Zion as the cover athlete right after he gets drafted. That would make some serious waves.

I think Zion should be great but it always gets on my nerves when players are praised pre-maturely. He hasn't even played a professional game yet! I understand the sentiment and it will create some waves but I would personally appreciate a D-Wade legend cover a lot more.

There's definitely a possibility cuz of all the hype surrounding him right now, but highly doubt it cuz Zion has yet to play in the NBA. There's a good chance maybe next yr, if he makes some waves in the league. I feel like Kawhi may get the cover this time though...especially after taking Toronto to the gold this season.

yeah i guess 2K have to wait until Kawhil make his own decision : re-sign with Raptors for max contract or leave to another team like Lakers, Clippers, New York Knicks

In fact, NBA2k's twitter account was tweeting about Giannis' MVP awards as the cover athlete. So they haven't even transitioned their messaging towards 2k20.

I find this VERY strange.

Yep. Seems like they're ready to reveal it. Like I said, could be on tomorrows episode of 2KTV or some time next week.
