Shooting: button, or stick?

Okay, do folks use the stick or button? I've been missing a ton of up close shots, and some of my buddies are convinced it is because I use the stick instead of the button. I don't understand how they use the button, because I feel like it won't give me enough control.

So what does everyone use, and why?

I use the button for standing spot up shots and the stick for everything else. Layups, dunks, stepbacks, post fades are all better on the stick IMO

I know a lot of people that use both. I actually used both up until about a 2 years ago. I do everything with the shot stick. The last thing I used the button for was Euro step when driving.

I play on broadcast so it's easier for me to use the button..

Also to add. I think you get a boost for using the stick if I'm not mistaken. Right?

Both, because certain situations call for specific shot attempts. Im using the stick more often this year due to the pump fake animations. I need to be able to do a fake step back, then explode past the defender and hit a fadeaway bank shot. Only possible with the stick. On easy shots, I use the button tho.

I think that was in 2k17, you could get a boost if you used the stick properly, but I don't think there is anything like that right in 2k20 (neither 2k19).

I have been practicing shooting with the stick this year in MLO (I mean jumpers, for post shots and layups I still use the RS) and unfortunately I nail (and green) the shots much more often using the button than the stick, which is a pity because shooting with the RS is much more organic than using a button and I think it was a revolution when 2k first introduced it... ;-)

Button for life. Never did like using the stick to shoot.

I also play on Broadcast.

I use the button for most shots outside of the the restricted area and the stick for most lay ups, dunks, drive finishers, etc.

Under and around the basket, the flexibility that the stick offers is essential. You can't trigger things like reverses using the button and in some situations that's the only viable shot.

Stick. Just feels more realistic to me and is more enjoyable. My advice is if you prefer the stick, use the stick.

For those playing broadcast....do you guys play absolute or camera relative controls? I play broadcast and playing camera relative will bank your shot of you're at the top angle. Which is annoying.

I find dribbling easier with camera relative broadcast. I may use the button for shooting and right stick for layups and post play.

RS always. I think just sometimes i happen to use button for set shots but very little.

I play exclusively broadcast cam and camera relative controls and ive never had this problem. For ****s down is down and up is up i dont camera relative effects that. Pushing the stick up to shoot it a bank shot at the right angles.

Stick. No reason not too, dribble moves are on the same Stick, no need to ever have to take your finger off of it.
