Need help on a new Center build.

From what I'm hearing there's a lot of Rim Protectors and Glass Cleaners. I NEED a big man with a jump shop, my current build has a 58, thus it's rendered useless and pointless to keep working on it. I love post scoring so that's why I chose those 2 particular pie charts

Here's 1st new Build at 7'1 max weight, max wingspan. NO inside badges whatsoever. Strength maxes at 84 is suspect But I can take Rim Protectors out the game completely just standing at the 3 point line.








Here's they 2nd build. 7'0 max weight, normal wingspan. Strength is 95 That alone could prove more worthy, but idk. Not sure how dependable that 3 ball gone be, mid-range should be ok. I wanted to go up on height, but that messes with shooting.

You said you need a jump shot but why? I’m a glass and it’s fun to dominate with him. I mean do what’s fun for you so I would say the first one but don’t sleep on glass’

1) I want a jump shot so I don't clog the paint

2) If I'm matched with a Rim Protector I can keep him out the paint with shooting mid-range and 3s. My team can then attack the paint and not worry about him

I don't want a Glass, they're not my play style at all

Those builds are ugly. Really anything without defensive as a primary isnt worth making.

I'll try to create a defense first build but the scoring and most importantly shooting will be low

Neither of those builds is really good at anything. You'll be able to hit wide open shots from the corner fairly consistently but that's about it. 75 def rebound for a center is laughable and why the need for a 92 standing dunk when you're planning on spacing the floor?

If you really want a shooting center just go pure shooting. Having a low to mid 70s jumper isn't worth sacrificing everything a center is supposed to do well

All the shooting badges would be HOF though. That's not enough? And of Course there's 95 Post Fade

you're already severly lacking defense and rebounding. you're better off being really good at one thing than mediocre at a couple things IMO. Personally if I wanted to make a post-scoring sharp I'd just make like a 6'9" small forward or a 6'7" shooting guard. Almost every big you run into this year will absolutely demolish you in the paint with those builds

I find it pretty sad that there's basically only one useful build for center this year.

I guess the question is has anyone managed to level a stretch 5 to get badged out with gold rebounding badges. Is that enough to at least keep the pure max rebounder center from completely dominating, while leveraging the 3 pointer to spread the floor?

My experience playing rec is that all these max centers just stand under the basket. They rack up boards and assists (via break starter) and some putbacks but kill the offense because no one can drive the lane since its always clogged and they aren't setting screens. I don't think they realize how much they are choking the offense because their numbers look great.


Would suck if that is the only viable play style.

With a 78 3 pointer he should be pretty lethal from distance (even well past the 3 point line) which should pull the opposing center way out of the paint. If they can keep from getting dominated on the defensive boards I feel like it could work.

The first build gets 9 badges in Defense/Rebounding.

Intimidator Gold, Box Gold, and Rebound Chaser gold.That's why I'm failing to see why it would be a bad build. Because you can get gold badges. What I could do is work on purely defense. Max the Rebounding and Interior Defense and get all 9 badges. If it works then I can work on everything else.

Now there is a 3 & D pie chart. But I wanted to be more like a post scorer.

Post scoring guards/forwards can be a sleeper build as none of their matchups will have the ratings nor badge to defend the post

So I decided to go with the first build. Got it up to 78ovr and played a couple Rec games and I must say it isn't a bad build. Managed to box out some Glass Cleaners and get the rebound and rebounding is only in 50s and Rebound Chaser is only on Silver.

Even got a couple blocks with 50s shot blocking. Once I get all defensive badges to gold + higher strength I think defense will be pretty decent. Strength is my major concern. For Gold defense badges I'm think Rim Protector, Pogo Stick, and Rebound Chaser. If I need to I'll switch POGO for Intimidator or Box out.

And of Course the 3pt shooting isn't bad with silver badges, cant' wait to get HOF. Felt great getting the Lockdowns and Interior Force centers to come out the paint of risk me being open for 3. Once i'm done with Defense stats I'll work on getting that 95 Post Fade up.

And all of this is without boost.
