Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

This rebuild will be fun (sarcasm alert). It’s derived from BlackJackXXI Sports YouTube/Twitch series where he basically made an impossible rebuild for himself with the Festivus College Jokers. He has many house rules and a terrible starting team that results in YEARS of misery from his team. I have modified some house rules and made up some of my own.

I’ve also taken from his book and renamed every single player to some type of funny or ironic name. As for the recruits coming in for years to come you guys will have a chance to have your very own player. More on that later in the season.

As for the house rules, here they are:
    Scheduling:
Until I reach three star prestige I must schedule five preseason top twenty five opponents and have a Strength of Schedule of at least an A.
Once I reach three star prestige I only need to play three preseason top twenty five opponents and have a Strength of Schedule of at least a B+.

    Recruiting:
I can only recruit at my prestige level or lower.
I can only recruit JUCOs who are interested in me before targeting them until I get to a two star prestige.
(Made prior to Season Three): I can go after three JUCOs not interested in us originally throughout the year.

    Coaching:
If my coach gets fired I must make a new coach to take over at the school. The coach progression rating is set at slow, so recruiting will be extremely hard each year because of this rule.
While in a game, if I go down by twenty five plus points I have to sim the rest of the game.
(Made prior to Season Three): My head coach only has to take another head coaching job if they are a prestige higher than us.

Now it’s time to meet your Rhode Island Tech Crawfish (With proper pronunciations as well):

Thriller In Madison Sees Badgers Slip By

            September 7

            Rhode Island Tech -- 31
            #4 Wisconsin -- 38

What a first half! Rhode Island Tech goes into halftime up seven! I did not think I would get a lead this early in the dynasty, especially not against the number four ranked team. The whole time I was thinking two things: Eventually we’ll lose it and what happened to my settings. I swear I checked multiple times and they are the same settings as the first post! Incredible start from Kingsley Harbord, two TDs along with 153 yards. Axel Rod also having a nice first half, averaging 6.9 yards per carry. Borous Chincky, our best player not including special teams, has five tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks! In the first half! Amazing!

The second half was looking just as good. The offense seemed like it could keep moving and the defense had the bend, don’t break mentality, and it was going perfectly. But those danged Badgers were just too good for us. Overall that might be the best performance we get out of this team for a long time in this dynasty. I was proud of everyone, and hopefully the momentum carries into next week versus Fresno State.

            Team Stats:
            Rhode Island Tech:

Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

              Crawfish Lose In Bad Fashion

              September 14

              Rhode Island Tech -- 15
              Fresno State -- 49

This first half wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t nearly as good as last week. This is mainly evident in the offense, as between the unusable running game and the terrible performance from Kingsly Harbord, but the defense hasn’t looked much better. Still, only giving up fourteen points thus far has kept us in the game. It’s only 14-7, so it’s still manageable.

And then the second half was abysmal. Kingsly Harbord did step it up in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as we are just a bad team. The defense just couldn’t hold with lack of speed, agility, awareness, tackling, and coverage skills we will flat out won’t be able to compete. Last week seemed to be a fluke. 49-15 against Fresno State is just terrible, though. More is expected next week versus Boston College.

              Team Stats:
              Rhode Island Tech:

              Red Zone - TD - FG: 5 - 2 - 0
              INT - Fumbles Lost: 2 - 0

              Fresno State:

The Craws look for something on offense with an Axel Rod TD carry.

                  BC Embarresses RIT In Rout

                  September 21

                  Boston College -- 72
                  Rhode Island Tech -- 20

The first half was abysmal. So abysmal, in fact, that, with seven seconds left, I got to the mercy rule. Didn’t even make it to the second half! The receivers are inconsistent, which surprises me because I thought they would just be consistently bad. But no, they will make a spectacular catch in traffic on third and long for a first down, but then drop a wide open pass later. Same goes for the O-Line, only they ARE consistently terrible. And poor Axel Rod, shows glimpses of being good but the stupid O-Line won’t hold up for him most of the time. Then Kingsly Harbord. Ohhhhh Kingsly G** D*** Harbord. Where do I begin. He looks sooooo good one drive, then the next he looks like Mark Sanchez and Deshone Kizer had a kid who went to a camp called ‘How to be a terrible QB and make IBMA lose his freaking mind camp!’ And, yes, that is right down there, he threw **29-70**. I haven’t even talked about the defense, who looked semi-decent the first two games. THEY CAN’T PLAY ONE ON ONE MAN COVERAGE. THEY ALSO CAN’T PLAY RUN DEFENSE FOR THEIR LIVES. This team is atrocious, yet I cannot wait to play Virginia in two weeks. The next post will be a recruiting update, along with team and country-wide updates.

                      Nationwide Update

                      October 5

*I kind of forgot to do all the recap stuff before simming to week six because I was just so excited about the progress in recruiting, which you will see in a second. So, all of this is right before week six action, not really meaning much except the stats are just higher/better/from one week farther along. Again, it really doesn’t affect anything, just thought I’d let you all know. Enjoy!*

                      Recruiting Update RIT:
I only recruit people to 75/80% only because by that point I pretty much know how well they are going to be, and I don’t want to waste the points.

Let's Go Craws! An Impossible Rhode Island Tech Dynasty

The Craws Are Clowned By UVA

                        October 5

                        Virginia -- 70
                        Rhode Island Tech -- 6

This might have been the worst yet I’ve seen this team play, and that’s saying something considering the way they played last week against BC. Usually either the offense or defense is able to hold their own. At least one is able to keep us in the game for a decent amount of time. Not today, however. Every single possession Virginia had while I was playing resulted in four touchdowns and one punt if I remember correctly. Terrible. As for the offense, I don’t know what was worse, Kingsly Harbord forgeting how to throw a football as soon as it touched his hands or the offensive line forgetting any type of blocking technique as soon as the ball was snapped. Downright awful, and I don’t know what to do! It’s not like it’s real life where I can go on a rant in a team meeting, watch extensive film, and train these guys harder! No, it’s just a video game where the AI says ‘Frick you IBMA, you team sucks so they no play good.’ I just have to sit back and hope to make it to halftime. Now do you understand why the Wisconsin game was such a fluke and I knew it. If any of you have seen Blackjack XXI’s series, you’ll know that was just a fluke. Pitiful. What irritates me the most is that I missed experiencing the first ever interception in RIT history! Next week against Toledo of all teams has to be better.

                        Team Stats:

What’s New, RIT Losses In Blowout

                          October 12

                          Toledo -- 88
                          Rhode Island Tech -- 3

This was supposed to be an easy game. Toledo is only a 79 OVERALL! I don’t want to rant for three posts in a row, but holy frick that was flat out a loss of morale for me. It took a quarter and about three minutes before I was mercy ruled by TOLEDO! Yes, I threw two picks, but the one was an ovethrow from Kingsly (there’s something new). Again the defense let me down this week. I think I’m going to stop trying to make user tackles, however, because my tackling skills are poor. Overall I no longer expect anything from this team. No, wait, I do expect us to lose here on out. Recruiting is going good, though. I’m going to do another recruiting update before the next game. So, let’s go get obliterated by #6 Penn State.

Mind you we also have some other guys lower in overall we are looking at, I just didn’t have enough room to feature them. The next recruiting recap will feature them, however. Not much to say, except pretty much everyone who we are number one for is by a landslide, it’s just a matter of who gets the scholarships.

**If you want to be represented by a player, pick a player you want to be (Obviously if the guy you want to be ends up not committing than you can change to someone else), say their name, number and, in parenthesis, pronunciation. The first post shows what number everyone is and what class they are, so you should know what numbers are available for next year. If you want a backstory for your player or a certain way for them to look than let it be known as well (just equipment, no height or weight changes).**

                              Borous Chincky Injured

                              October 19

Crawfish star defensive end for the Craws Borous Chincky was injured during today’s Penn State game. He injured his right shoulder early in the first quarter, only recording a single tackle before having to be taken out of the game. It seems he will likely be out for four to six weeks with a torn right shoulder.
