I've been saying that I'm not sure why people keep using the "Day 1" game speed as the basis for the game speed changing.
The game isn't going to feel the same to you two weeks after playing it nonstop as it did on Day 1. On Day 1 you were coming from 2K19 which was a much faster game in comparison. By now you've adjusted to the game speed and are better on the sticks as a result.

That’s not the main issue. To me the real issue is that speed does not matter. Especially when the hip ride animation kicks in from behind you. They need to fix the speed threshold

Whatever Mike is classing as game speed might not have been changed. But something that directly affects the speed of player movement/animations has definitely been changed since day 1.
You only have to look at YouTube clips from a week or two ago to today to realise that.

This I definitely have a problem with.
Too many times I beat a defender only to have them get back in the play by forcing me into a contested layup animation.

Just asking. But have you tried pacing the defender once you get by them? When I say pace. I mean not going into pressing speed once you blow by him? I feel the speed burst this year isn't what we think it is. And it only works in short burst. I might be wrong.

I have a really hard time believing Mike is out here scheming to deceive offline players...to what end?
but I dont think it's outside of the realm of possibility that updates can have unintended consequences....just not as much or often as people beleive ...just my opinion
Thing's like the footplanting disappearing after updates definitely seem a bit far fetched...

Not at all. That's a fundamental part of the game.
It's one of my favorite aspects of the title this year, if it did I would definitely be ranting about it, lol
I just don’t know why one guy is spamming 2K on Twitter by saying that the footplanting and the movement is terrible and that offline is ruined. I think the game is fine. As an hardcore offline guy, I think the game is great.

The left joystick movement on defense has 100% confirmed changed since release day. I used to be able to get my user-controller defender locked into into a slowed down "strafe" stance just by feathering the left joystick and gently nudging it around. But that left stick strafe was taken out of the game after one of the early patches. Now you have to hold down the left trigger to strafe, and the left joystick will always make your defender run around in "chase mode" regardless of how lightly or heavily you press the left stick.
And just from user-controlling the same center card from day 1 to today in MyTeam (Gheorghe Mureșan, who has a 25 speed rating), I could immediately notice a huge difference in his overall movement speed and agility on the day that 2K released that speed differential patch. Muresan had extremely sluggish movement when the game first dropped, but now he's running around the court like prime Wilt Chamberlain.
