Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
If true, I wish my C's had brought you on the roster. You would have been a great fit.
Good luck with everything, you deserve a spot in the league.
And, as I stated prior, I also have never considered 2K cam even close to the feel of actually playing, as it's a 3rd person camera that hovers above the court, and it's not "behind" the player (In a north south fashion) at all times).
Play how you want people, but making statements like "If you actually played, 2K cam is the only way to play", is almost taking a shot at anybody who plays on broadcast. As you have seen in this thread, A LOT of people of all skill levels play on broadcast, and likewise on 2K cam.
The discussion overall has been good in here though.
Edit: Didnt realize you were with the Pacers, hope you have a great season!Comment

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
You can't "swivel" your head to look in different directions on drive cam, meaning you miss much of the court you could actually see as a basketball player.
I actually can't stand drive cam. Not an insult to anybody who uses it, but again it has so many limitations and once again doesnt make me feel like I am playing real basketball in the least. It's also another 3rd person view with a bouncing camera that hovers above the player.
The points for me is: again, it doesnt feel remotely like I am actually playing in that view.
I am going to continue using Broadcast Generic or versions of that view, because that's best for me.Comment

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
I typically play on the broadcast camera. On dreamcast I primarily played on the 2k angle but made the switch to broadcast around 2k8 and never went back. Whatever camera gives YOU the most enjoyment is the best though and everyone has a different preference. Has anyone ever played with the Parametric camera? I've been feeling nostalgic and trying to find a camera angle that best mimics this old hoop game:

You were really good for the Bulls last season! I'm a Bulls fans and a lot of us are confused that you weren't retained. Personally, I'd rather see you get a shot than have Blakeney hog the ball.
I hope you get a better shot with the Pacers, but I suspect it's going to be hard to find minutes with them.
It's too bad you didn't end up on the Rockets (with Green being out for the season).
I wish you the best of luck! I know a lot of Bulls fans are going to watch if you get more playing time.Comment

That view was used in Run N Gun, and other games around that timeframe. Certainly a lot of nostalgia with some of the camera views, which is why I liked the "Crowd" camera from 2K8 that mimicked NBA Lives early games.Comment

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
Yeah give it a go. What I like is that the view is almost always from behind the ball handler (even in the corner, unlike 2K) or selected defender, so the controls are very consistent and it always feels like you’re on the court. I feel like D is a lot more intuitive on Player Lock.
You do sacrifice a lot of court visibility, but in a way that’s fairly realistic (I won’t claim it’s 100% realistic because we got NBA players up in here playin’ broadcast, but Player Lock replicates the limitations of the active player’s POV about as well as you can expect a video game to do so, imo).
You get used to remembering / inferring where players are on the court though, and you also have to just practice your plays and freelances so you know where guys are supposed to be. You can’t just perfectly execute any random play by following the PlayVision, so to me it’s a little more satisfying to execute things in Player Lock than other views.

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
It’s funny, everyone says this about Player Lock. I guess I’m just used to it. I’ve only been playing 2K for a year and change, and like 95% of that time on Player Lock, so playing any other way feels very weird to me (and very ‘still’ / ‘static’, which I suppose goes to your point). Drive cam actually feels much crazier to me in terms of camera movement.

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
Whoever says the 2k is for playing and broadcast is for watching shows he has a problem of doing both at the same time. coz he's into focus of doing whatever unrealistic moves just to win.
coz im pretty sure i just did this in broadcast cam and its as close to realistic NBA basketball and i have no problem with my movement.

Re: 2K Cam vs Broadcast Cam
I'm sorry, I know this is an old thread, but I've searched everywhere here and on google and I can't find an answer to this one question.
Why when playing a game in My League does my team shoot at the same hoop for the entire game? Why don't they switch back and forth every quarter or at halftime? Whatever it is they normally do.
Is it because of the prostick controls? I don't even use them. I just want the teams to switch sides. Thx for anybody who takes the time to respond.
For some reason this is driving me crazy.Comment
