Re: Shot Aiming More Forgiving Post Patch

Shot aiming works if you regularly shoot on the catch and have a lot of space, like if you are a non-shooting build who spots up in the corner and your man sags way off. Because as mentioned its heavily effected by contests and seems slower, you need to be able to calmly line up the shot and pull. If you shoot off the dribble, or are a shooter who is likely going to be a focus of the defense and have defenders lunging at you, IMHO shot aiming is too slow and wonky to put all the moving parts together in time and get off your shot cleanly.

Everyone is different in adapting...but I feel like the stick specifically opens the things you mentioned up.

Things like pull ups in general have improved this year, but for me the timing on them has always felt off. Aiming takes that out of the equation. Im just focusing on centering instead of hitting a timer. You can really thrive with mid range pull up players.

A shot like the mid post pump fake and fade was pretry much non existent for me before this year.

To your second point, the beauty of aiming is that you don't have to worry about shot timing...and you can "lock in" your aim anytime you want....so it helps in situations like you described.

but like I said, its ideal for some, for some its not. I'm just glad we have options.

I didn't play the demo for too long, but shot aiming is weird *** hell for me. Not only do I have to focus on releasing the stick, but I also gotta fine tune? ALready feels like i got clumsy thumbs. I'd just rather remove the meter, use square and watch the animation.

Re: Shot Aiming More Forgiving Post Patch

Like previous years I used the shot stick on certain occasions. I would usually use it in the paint so I can make sure i’m going in with my right/left hand or doing a Euro/cradle/floater. This year it’s the same with shot aiming I tend to use it only on pull ups and fade aways because the animations tend to be longer giving me that extra few milliseconds to center my shot. Aiming is abysmal for the quick hooks under the basket you’re not allotted enough time to center.
