Our only listed SF was Kevin Knox and despite playing +30 minutes a night, showed no real signs of improvement. We had four picks in the upcoming draft - 14, 19 and two seconds. The main guy I had my eye on was Herb Lynch, a 6’9 SF out of Portland. Who’s an athletic 3PT Specialist, with 3D potential. When #14 came around, Boston offended to trade me SF Aaron Nesmith and PG Carson Edwards, for pick 14 and one of my seconds. At first I was hesitant, because I didn’t want to be finessed by Danny Ainge. But, the guy I wanted was projected to go late first round, which means he’d likely be there at 19. Plus, this would give me more depth at SF, as needed. So, I went ahead and made the deal and sure enough I was able to snag my guy as well. I feel like I’m writing too much now, so I’ll stop here. I currently have a MyLeague going with the Spurs. I’m about to start my second season. During the first season I made some moves to try to bring in some guys to fit my defensive system.

I ended up trading for Jrue Holiday, Clint Capela, and Kevon Looney (which brought me in a ‘22 first round pick from the Warriors as well). This costed me Lamarcus Aldridge, Derrick White, Rudy Gay, Jakob Poeltl, and Lonnie Walker.

We finished the season with a 44-38 record, which put us in 6th place in the West. We lost to Golden State in the 2nd Round.

Coming into the off-season I was planning on re-signing Derozan and Patty Mills and filling in the other spots with re-signees and mid-level guys. However, as soon as I saw Jonathan Isaac my plans changed. I renounced Derozan and Mills (only way I could create the cap space) and then went after Isaac. The Magic let me have him (at 4 years, ~24M/year). This left me enough cap space to pick up Paul Millsap and Danny Green, as well as re-sign my other guys.

We also decided to bring Popovich back in.

So I’m going into season 2 with this lineup:

PG - Dejounte Murray, Tre Jones
SG - Jrue Holiday, Keldon Johnson, Danny Green, Edmond Sumner
SF - Jonathan Isaac, Devin Vassell
PF - Paul Millsap, Keita Bates-Diop, Luka Samanic, Usman Garuba
C - Clint Capela, Kevon Looney

This puts me at 4 and a half stars of System Proficiency. We will be relying on our lockdown defense and on offense we will look for Murray, Holiday, and Capela creating with the pick and roll.

After a month into the 2021-22 season with my Spurs we currently sit at 12-5. This puts us in third in the West and first in our division.

Some quick info; I’m playing 1 out of every 6 games which means I have currently played three games this season. In those three games I destroyed the Grizzlies and the Thunder, which made me worried that I might have the difficulty too low. But in my 3rd game I got murdered by the Lakers.

My stats leaders are currently:

Clint Capela with 15.2 PPG (6 players average double digits on the team)
Clint Capela with 11.2 RPG
Dejounte Murray with 6.4 APG
Jrue Holiday with 1.6 SPG
Jonathan Isaac with 1.8 BPG

I went on and jumped into my real MyNBA a few days ago. I'm using Schnaidts sliders and his 2K21 last gen settings and JBs draft classes on PS5. I usually control and rebuild with my Hawks, I will play with them, but I think they're in good shape as is. I manually control all teams but set everything to auto with me only actually running the Knicks.

I fired Lloyd Pierce and hired Mike Dantoni from the Nets. I gave Lloyd the Thunder Head coach for the rebuild. I fired the Cavs coach as well and hired Dave Joeger. I fired the Grizzlies coach and put Lionel Hollins in charge. I hired Ron Adam's from Golden State to coach the Wolves. I put Thibodeau in Houston to infuse some defense. I hired Kidd to coach the Knicks. Finally, I put Sam Cassell in charge in Indianapolis. I just hate generic coaches.

I changed the allstar rules back to traditional EAST/WEST.

I simmed the first season. The Pelicans beat GS for the chip.

I manually edited the contracts of every player 83 or above to resign with their respective team.

Spurs ended up with the 1st pick. I force traded NYs 4th and 8th picks for 1 and took Jaylen Justice. New York has their PG of the future with a HOF PG to help groom him in Kidd.

I sent Derozan to Detroit. I sent Aldridge back to Portland and made him a PF again. Traded CP3 to the Heat for Dragic. I sent Kevin Love to the Heat as well for Olynyk. Heat are in chip or bust mode.

During the draft there were some cool, sensible trades being offered that I approved, Jazz traded Bogdanovic and Ingles for Turner from the Pacers. I thought that was solid. The Hornets traded Heyward to the Magic and took a SF in the draft.

I loaded JBs 2nd class and am now early I to season 2 with the Knicks. I havent made any other moves for the Knicks. We're building slowly but it's fun. Justice is a greak and Barrett is fun.

When you guys started your leagues were you able to get updated 2k or custom rosters?

Not quite sure how I'm gonna go about adding on Paul George's extension seeing that it's an average of $47.5M per year. Anyone know if I can somehow do this if I already started making my roster?

Did you try just editing the contract under his profile ?
