We are monitoring and fixing issues in this thread.
Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Not even being a pessimist but we see these same screenshots every single year. This doesnt get me hype.... I'd rather have no graphical improvements and have actual gameplay improvements. Tired of playing the same game every year with a new plethora of glitches and game breaking exploits.
Depending on your definition of "game-breaking," those exploits will always exist. I don't think a sports game has ever existed (and there have been dozens, maybe hundreds that have ever been made) where there wasn't some sort of cheap tactic that players could abuse in order to win. It's a video-game limitation, it's not 2K's fault.
I think I just expected “more” when they moved to next gen. I don’t quite understand why the skin can’t at least have some sort of texture to it so they can closer match the faces. They still look waxy or something.
Luka could be a bit more wider but he's definitely in better shape now
Yeah the Luka screens look fine to me. IMO he’s not the issue, the issue is nobody else is really skinny enough. Luka has a basically straight torso in real life, the problem is everybody in the game is straight when most guys have a significantly smaller waist than shoulder width. People don’t always realize from watching on TV, these NBA guys are super slender.

Realistic skin textures have always been seemingly unattainable in gaming. Even in the best graphical games out there (RDR2, TLOU2, etc) skin still looks wax-like and unrealistic. I imagine adding all the necessary minutiae (pores, wrinkles, hair, etc) is just too taxing on current hardware, so there’s not much we can do but expect the wax-like status quo.
Honestly, and not trying to sound like a negative Nancy, but it’s pretty clear there is no actual graphical enhancement here. Slight improved details MAYBE but this appears to be a color and shading enhancement that could’ve been handled with a patch.
Looking at the Bulls jersey which I’ve spent a ton of time tweaking in my tv settings, it’s a bit richer but it’s exactly how it looks when I get my TV settings right. And it’s still a bit too orange looking for a proper Bulls red, which is the exact problem I run into when I push the color/saturation up on my TV settings with 2K21 next gen.
I don’t see a color overhaul here. It appears to be shading and saturation tweaks.
Then stop buying the game - Enough with all of you whiners & complainers - You know you’re going to purchase the game & if your not careful - you’re going to nitpick EVERYTHING wrong about the game - come on here - make a bunch of people upset - then be back here at this same time next year talking about 2K23 - Stop & enjoy things man - Because the game has come a LONG way since the Sega Genesis days (even though those were great days )
tf are you talking about? Did you even read my comment? I was talking directly to scottyp180 about him saying all he needed to see as far as acceptable improvements in the game. What he said was very entry level things that should automatically be fixed. He didn't say anything about actual issues that matter like gameplay. Then I informed him about the development infrastructure. Then I said another factual statement when talking about having a year under their belt now of working with next gen hardware so it should unlock new things for them to utilize.
Everything I said was a fact. Not opinion. You clearly struggle to interpret basic level sentences because I literally didn't complain or whine about a single thing. What I talk highlight when speaking about issues with the game are not even remotely close to nitpicking. The contest system is terrible. The game is animation based and has been for 5 years. There is no defensive system especially when guarding the perimeter 1v1. You just try and position yourself close enough to the ball handler to trigger a body up animation. Player movement on the court was a big topic they hit on before last years next gen release. New and improved player movement and it feels so realistic on the court and you move where you want to be instead of a slight tap in the LS moving your player 13 feet blah blah blah. Well the game came out and the player movement was nearly identical as it has been. There is no true feel when moving around the court (talking about pro-am/rec). It looks and feels unnatural. Full court dime passes off rebounds still in the game. Literally 7 players in the NBA are capable of making that pass consistently. Catch animations off passes that I have never seen in basketball in real life at any level. One hand no look catch then spinning 360 degrees before finally gathering for a shot.... All of these things are not examples of whining. They are major issues with the gameplay that make the experience much less enjoyable. Issues that have been in the game for years. Try and argue that any of the things I listed are just me whining and complaining.. I would love to see how you'd try and accomplish that.
