In game play calling menu. (Next gen)
Is there anyway to change it back to last years version where you could press the left Dpad and then whatever corresponding button for the play you want? This years version where you have to push left and then scroll through the plays is quite aggravating and messes up the flow of the game for me.

For sure. It’s almost like they want you to solely use the CPU’s play calls either that or come to a complete standstill pick your play and then salvage whatever is left of the shot clock.

To clarify this happens to you in MyNBA correct? Because I can’t seem to figure out why I can call plays and make subs in exhibition game. But for some reason I can’t do it in my franchise. Added with the combination that broadcast camera is gone is extremely frustrating.

Yea in MyNBA it’s really frustrating. I can set the play calling to auto but auto runs the same 4 plays all game and makes it really difficult to score. I’m bad enough as it is. I really like the game but this is beyond frustratingComment

I have hated this when they changed it a few years ago. As is now I need to push down on d pad with my left thumb (taking it off the left stick as defenders swipe at the ball) so I can scroll down with dpad to choose 1 of the 4 plays. Horrible design. Even having those 4 plays when I get to my page having them tied to the buttons would be way better. Taking my movement hand off that button wasn’t very well thought out. SmhBasketball Playbooks

Re: In game play calling menu. (Next gen)
Let me ask you this. How do you call a specific play (let’s say the 4th play at the bottom of said page) without standing still on the court? Your left thumb can’t be on the left movement stick and the d pad at once. That’s my gripe. A defender can swipe at you and go for steal and you are stuck in spot for a second or 2. The answer is hold LT to protect dribble, But it’s not intuitive and can be better. Just add the buttons to each play and that is solved without having to scroll down with d pad. I figured it out. You have to have your relationship with the coach in the 90s. I did this by turning off actions and just chit chatting with the head coach a bunch of times back to back. You have to also make sure you unlock the ability to chat with staff in the skills menuComment

Ok I do not know what you did but for sure coach confidence/trust to 100 does not change anything.
This interface is horrible.
You cannot go past 1 page of playcall (takes too long and expose to mistakes with ball) and if you add that you cannot change plays assigned to a player (outside of editing the player) this makes playcall in 2k22 impossible.
On top of that the fact the game ignores series/freelance selection makes our day just hectic killing all the great addition they made.
You must die with the 2 or 3 play ACE will generously call for you.
I hope they will patch this. They must.2025 Miami Marlins
