I had been playing the other basketball games for a decade, and I actually still wanted to play those games, but I had a dreamcast and pretty much the only basketball game they had was NBA 2k and I never looked back since.

Yeah i switched from elite (live) to 2k for good now. I just can't play that game anymore.

^^haha ya, I played 2k on dreamcast then switched to Live for a few years but have been back with 2K since the PS3 came out. Live always seemed way to arcade style for me

Kinda strange question considering which forum this is ....anyways the 1st basketball game i got 10 years ago at the age of 6 was live 2001 think it had a young Kg on there....the reason being 2k was the young upstart and live was the established superpower...how times have changed

The NBA 2K Forum here has suspiciously and mysteriously been home to fans of the NBA 2K franchise for years. It just doesn't add up.

Took me a while to trust 2K. First b-ball game I got(besides Double Dribble) was Lakers vs Celtics by EA and bought their games year after year. This was more than 10 years before 2K started even making ball games. I was a Live guy for a while, but 2K won me over the year Tmac was on the Magic(don't remember the year). Even then I'd still get Live for the PC. Now I only get 2K. I stuck with EA as long as I could.

First basketball game i ever got was live 07 for PC, then I didn't buy live 08, because it lookked the same. Then I was going to buy 09, but they stop making it for PC, so i got NBA 2k9, and I fell in love, it was 1000000 times better than Live, then I made the Swith to PS3, and I got both NBA 2k10 and NBA live 10, Live was very disappointing, but 2k was almost the same as 2k9, but my player mode made up for the lack of any other improvements. This year I will be getting NBA2k11, and never will get Elite, mybe when its $10, jus to try it out, lol.

I'm getting 2k11 and I haven't owned 2k since the year 2000....I'm a "live" guy, but this year u can't deny that 2k is the better game.

my first nba live was live 1995 for pc then I followed live until the first 2k for dreamcast came out that was it every year I try live for a game or 2 and that's it. 2k for 10 years dreamcast - xbox - xbox360

The other game was a puppy love. I grew up and moved on from that other game and started playing 2k2 and found true love. If there's a cure for it, I don't want it...I don't need it.


I won't lie tho every now and then I do go back and check on the ex. I'm sure others have. But going back makes you realized that being here was the best decision
