Why would 2k change the release point for a timed based shot stick?

Why would 2k change the release point for a timed based shot stick?

Is it just me or is this just a bad idea? Most of us have played over 50 games by now and were used to the release points for all our players, and they go and change the release point? I dont understand the thinking on that at all.

Its like we have to relearn how to play the game of course until they change the release points again with another patch.

Yeah I think I noticed this too. I've only played one game post-patch, but it seemed like my jump shot timing was way off and I couldn't understand why. Did 2k alter the timing with the patch?

They must have because I was hitting in the green alot before the patch and after I can barely hit the red now shooting the same as I was before.

they did it because many of the shots had unnatural release points( kobe, bron, drifters). In 2 weeks it'll be a non factor.

This is correct. We'll eventually get used to it. Just practice and practice.

Re: Why would 2k change the release point for a timed based shot stick?

I've been practicing with D. Rose in freestyle and I've tried releasing it early, late, what I'm used to being on time and I get a green about one out of every 15-20 shots. It has made this game unplayable for me. I'm on a 5 game losing streak with the Bulls losing by about 10 points a game on 5 min quarters, and I'm playing on PRO!! I just don't understand it. I think this is the most frustrated I've ever been with a sports game.

Granted, I'm terrible at running an offense in this game, but even when I do create open jumpers I can't get the timing right. I know a lot of you are going to say "Just practice", but what good is practicing when all you see is red feedback without telling you if you were too late or too early. At least with FT's it says if you were early or late...

Ugh, I'm getting so mad. This seems like it could be a great game, but as a matter of personal pride I refuse to play on rookie. I've never had to play a sports game on the easiest setting and I don't plan to now.

I don't understand it either. It should always be releasing at the top of the jumper, but now that doesn't work for some.

Basically Sums how I feel about the shots.

It'll be an adjustment for sure but in the end I think these new releases will feel more natural then the original ones did.

Wow, you guys were quick to respond. I appreciate it. Well, before you posted that video I gave it another try. It turns out the reason I wasn't benefiting from the feedback is because I was ALWAYS late, even when I was trying to be early. Apparently the new timing mechanism is extremely early compared to how things used to be. I feel kind of silly for my earlier rant. Like I said, I'm still terrible at running an offense, but at least I should be able to knock down some jumpers with the new timing.

I can't believe people have trouble hitting jumpshots I just played my franchise on superstar nd shot 40 percent from 3 as a team with the wizards. I went 2-4 with John wall. And most my points game of jumpshots.

something is different after 2 games I've been bricking a lot of shots with Ray Allen.

I couldn't hit nothing pre patch. Post patch I'm shooting in the high 40's to low 50's. I thought they made it easier.

SAME!!!! I'm dying not being able to shoot with Ray Ray... but Pierce feels the same to me....

This new shot stick timing is pissing me off. Allen's shot is no longer as good as it used to be becuase the old shot had a lot of leeway and even if you held it longer or shorter, it usually turned out green, now if you hold it longer, it will be red, but the shorter release is still green.
