Dimming down 3 PTS

First I have to say I love this game. The best sports game ever. I usually pick up NBA 2K around christmas cuz I am usually playing NCAA football. Not this year.

I love the difficulty of 2k12 and have no problems with the passing like others have. It is a lot harder and takes some time and patience but is very challenging and realistic.

The one thing I don't like is the 3 pointers. First it seems a lot of people have inflated 3pt ratings. And there are way to many taken by every team. Has anyone found a way to make it happen less. I have been playing online association but since I can't edit rosters or use a custom roster in online association or sliders is there any way to dim these attempts down?

If you playing online, that is all you can do is play better defense.

play better defense?that answer sucks....if u are playin in mp mode it has nothing to do with them hitting 70% from downtown...oklahoma went 17/22 from 3 against me in mp....and the guy(westbrook) i was guarding went 1/4...so clearly theres an issue here......

Simulation sliders - then put 3PT Success to 45 for User and CPU.

I could easily say your post sucks cause you didn't read the OP's actual post.

There is no work around, the only work around is to switch defenders and play better defense.

As for the abundance of 3's in MP.. although there are some unrealistic numbers, playing good defense lowers their chances of making a 3.

Just because the guy shooting the 3 isn't your man, doesn't mean you're not suppose to rotate when he's open. Sim also applies on defense and not just offense.

Why are people so quick to blame the game and developers for "programming" insane amount of 3's or the ever popular CPU Comeback "Cheat".

That's a weird looking image you have, with the boy playing a video game, but using someone else's arms. It about left me cross-eyed. I had to block out part of the image with my hand to sort out what was what.

The Problem isnt the percentage the problem is the help defense with the CPU is so stupid. The ENTIRE team sometimes helps on one guy even if you go to defensive settings to prevent this and they leave him wide open.

i had david lee hit 2 3pt shots off the dribble in my face on hall of fame in online association...so i don't wanna hear nothing about "play better defense" i don't think some of yall know what real basketball is

Lets help one another out. You have to adjust your settings on the d-pad and coaching sliders. Pressure shooters, no double teams, high defensive pressure, low d-help, and play shooters tight for offball are a start.

I have started to using defensive icon switching instead of using a to switch defenders. I noticed I'm in a better position to contest and avoid the sliding that plagues online play.

Interestingly, I think David Lee might be working on a 3pt shot. He took and made one in practice and none of the other players looked at him sideways. He also made one out of the three he took last year, which means nothing, but he might be trying to extend his range.

Of course this isn't what 2K is modelling, and him making 3's is just coincidental.

Speaking of which, they have his passing at 46 or something. David Lee is actually a pretty dang good passer, especially for a big man. He has good b-ball IQ, and some of his passes are suprisingly nice. He's also 4th among power forwards in assists. Seems like it should at least be in the 60's.
