What is your "Dream Team" like??

No players in general, just type of players at each position.. for example:

PG: scorer or passer or shooter? size over speed?
SG: shooter? big enough to play SF or small enough to play PG?
SF: slasher or shooter or scorer? rebounder? Can play PF or SG?
PF: good mid ranger or deep in post? defensive minded or offensive?
C: defensive or offensive? etc etc

Ideal 6th man: what position would he play and what would he bring to the line-up?
role players: shooters? Or maybe just someone to give your starters a breather?

I'm just curious, as I like to take my association teams on different routes instead of always building the same type of team. Please feel free to go into detail on your choices if you choose, I'm really interested in the responses..

    THANKS!!

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Pass first guy that can hit the 3 (Jason Kidd or Steven Nash with defense)
SG: All-round scorer that can pretty much shoot from anywhere (Kobe Bryant)
SF: Great at spotting up for the open 3, terrific defender that can play the passing lane as well as going for the block (Josh Smith with 3pt range)
PF: Low post beast that can take it to the rim as well as having a nice mid range game (Amare, Dirk, etc.)
C: defensive stopper that has a limited offensive game- gets most of his points either from lead-in passes or putbacks (Dikemebe Mutombo)

Sixth man: someone that brings instant offensive scoring (Jamal Crawford)

To me the key is balance; you don't wanna have too much shooters or too much players that clog up the paint.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Pass first guy that takes smart shots and can disrupt the opponent offense with D (Stockton)
SG: All-round scorer that can shoot (MJ)
SF: Great athlete, all around player, terrific defender (Pippen)
PF: Low post presense that has some mid range game and can rebound (Duncan)
C: Tall defensive minded player that anchor the team D and has an average offensive game (Olajuwon, thus his O game is nowhere near average, well above)

Sixth man: offensive minded combo guard or wing, with long range (Jason Terry)

The Offense has to have as many weapons as possible and all players must stand on their on Defending, while all the above starting 5 examples are incredible on O, what I seek the most is their awesome commitment on D. Defense does win championships.

        Good thread topic...I like it.

PG: Pure PG with outstanding three-point shooting. (Mark Price)
SG: Three point threat with size and with the ability to drive (Dan Majerle at his peak)
SF: Shut down defender who can do a little bit of everything (Pippen)
PF: Athletic rebounder and shot blocker (Shawn Kemp or Kevin Garnett)
C: Pure defender and shot blocker that can run the floor (Marcus Camby)

Ideal 6th man: Guard that can shoot (Jeff Hornacek or Mitch Richmond)

role players: Athletic players that can get out in transition.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Fast PG who can hit the three. I want him to be able to play passing lanes and force turnovers and bad point guards. Less concerned with handling and playmaking, just hit shots and dont turn it over.

SG: Tall shooter. Can put the ball on deck a bit, but I want a shooter. i.e. Klay Thompson.

SF: I want a ball dominant dude who can iso and score from anywhere, i.e. Carmelo. Will hit the three, go off the dribble, or post up. Can make a nice pass too and rebound if necessary.

PF: Someone who can finish off the pick and roll, knock down an open mid range jumper. A little post up game helps. Doesn't necessarily need to be an amazing defender.

C: a 7'0" defensive wall. Offense is nice, but if all he can hit are open lay ups and put backs, that's good enough. Should be an all-star based off rebounding and shot blocking.

6th man: A knock down three point shooting SG who can play point too. i.e. Jamal Crawford

7th man: A PF/C with a little post up game.

8th/9th/10th: Shooter, pure PG, big dude who can pick up fouls.

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

Gonna try to build two teams with current players that's pretty good but not 82-0 good, here

                Triangle:
PG: Defense, 3 pointers, athleticism (Chalmers / Toney Douglas)
                SG: All-around scorer (Kobe Bryant)
                SF: All-around scorer (LeBron James)
PF: Defense, okay midranger, athleticism (Serge Ibaka)
C: Defense, okay post-game, athleticism (Kendrick Perkins)

6th: Stretch-four (Lamar Odom, Jeff Green)

                SSOL:
PG: Athleticism, Pure PG (Chris Paul, Deron Williams)
                SG: Athleticism, shooter (Nick Young)
SF: Athleticism, Pure scorer (Melo, Rudy Gay)
PF: Athleticism, Mid-range, finishing ability (LaMarcus Aldridge, Amare)
                C: Athleticism, lane-clogging, finisher (Nene)

6th: Instant scoring guard, some play-making ability (Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry)

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

Good stuff so far, for me:

PG: pass first, doesn't need to be a scorer or hit 3's..I'm ok with a solid mid-ranger

SG: small scorer, although I often tend to neglect my shooting guards, if he can shoot, then I would like for him to be the ultimate combo guard

SF: shooter/defender, I like tall SF's, like 6'9. I would rather him have LBJ's build of speed and blocking, solid mid-range and dependable 3 pointers

PF: rebounder/defender, not a big post game player. Just gets rebounds and lock down the paint

C: same as PF, if anything, I would like for them to have some mid-range

This isn't really my ideal set-up, its just a set-up I mainly use to challenge myself since I'm not really a post player. (im a patient, but impatient player)

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

Alright, this sounds pretty fun actually. Trying to be realistic on a single team a little bit.

Point Guard- Preferably a quick guy who can pass and shoot off of the dribble efficiently and doesn't have to be a prolific scorer (Someone like Stephen Curry, or Johnny Flynn)

Shooting Guard- Great scorer, I like to shoot mid range jumpers the most here, or with his back to the basket. (Monta Ellis, Kobe Bryant, or JR Smith)

Small Forward- More of a defensive player, can score well, makes it splash from behind the line. (Shane Battier, or Andre Iguodala)

Power Forward- Probably my favorite position to play with. Need to hit the turn around jumper from mid range, needs good footwork. Preferably a good FT shooter. (Tyler Hansbrough, or Luis Scola)

Center- Not too big on the Center position, but I'd like him to be more defensive oriented than not. But able to score from the low block and maybe hit the occasional jumper from 10-15 feet (Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol)

6th Man- Typically a guard type. Potent scorer, someone who can come off of the bench and score 15-25 points a night. (Jamal Crawford, or Brandon Roy)

Re: What is your "Dream Team" like??

PG: Fast, leads the team into transition, good passer, I tend to not shoot much with my point so the shot doesn't matter too much, can control games without scoring 20+, can play heavy minutes
                      (Young J-Kidd)
SG: Versatile, athletic enough to run the break and be atleast an average defender, 10-15 ppg, good height 6'5 or higher
(Terrence Williams, Nick Young, Landry Fields, etc)
SF: 6'7 or higher, good finisher, above average defender, shoot the three
(Pierce, or Granger types of players)
PF: Pick and Roll finisher, athletic, gets out on the break, weak side shot blocker, good help defender, ok if can't do anything but score off of putbacks, bunnies, or dunks.
                      (Ibaka, Tyson Chandler, Young Dwight)
C: Post threat, can hit the midrange shot to draw out the other teams big guys to open up the paint, doesnt need to be great defender, 7' preferably, doesnt need to be athletic as long as I'm guaranteed 10-15 points from posting up generally the trailer on my fast break oriented style of play
(Think old Kareem on the '87 Laker team, or Current Duncan)
*Also note that the C and PF are interchangeable, so one of thems athletic, and the other a post threat, for balance.
6th Man, an all around big man, as I get in foul trouble early, think Darrell Arthur or Marc Gasol
7th: 2/3 man, versatile, can hit the three) (Martell Webster, James Posey, Matt Barnes)
8th: Gritty Athletic 4 or 5 (Hakim Warrick, Deandre Jordan Types)
9th: Back up point, wont play much, doesn't turn it over too much, is a good shooter (BOOBIE)
10th: 2/3 man, 3 point specialist (Anthony Morrow types)

Atleast thats how most of my fantasy drafts go!

Honestly, with my style of play I just need a fast point guard that can make awesome passes and finish in traffic.

                        My perfect squad would be:
                        PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: Ray Allen (or any other sharp shooter honestly)
SF: Anyone who can make open shots
PF: Has decent mid range game and can finish dunks (Brandon Bass is one of my favorites)
C: Dwight Howard (mostly for rebounding and the awesome dunking.

I would probably finish almost everygame with Rondo having a triple double, and probably leading the team in points. He's so deadly on fastbreaks.

I dream Team would have to have a fast PG who can run plays, be a decent shooter, and can handle the ball really well. My SG would have to be ableto shoot and be fast. My SF has to be a good shooter, and can finish underneath the basket. My PF has to be able to finish under the basket have an ok mid range game and can rebound. Lastly my C must be able to dunk good, finish in traffic, and be a great rebounder.

PG Young Jason Kidd, or Derrick Rose, or John Wall

PG - Distributor. Orchestrator of the offense. Someone who can knock down the open three when the scorer on the team gets doubled on the drive.

SG - Taller, all around, unstoppable scorer with the I.Q. to give up the ball when necessary. Killer instinct. "The star".

SF - The all around player. Defensive stopper with range, but defers to the scorer.

PF - Superior post player with a mid range jumper and rebound skills. Can defend the post as well and block shots on occasion.

C - The shot blocking, rebounding extraordinaire. Locks up the paint with intimidation and size. Can score inside of 10 feet.

Sixth Man - The spark. A great energy guy. The crowd favorite. A guy that gets the team out of a slump when necessary.
