RIP Association Mode
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23NBA2K14&src=hash">#NBA2K14</a> offline association mode is gone. Just confirmed no multi team association in next gen. 2k isn’t talking about online yet.</p>— Aaron Holbert (@aholbert32) <a href="https://twitter.com/aholbert32/statuses/393134810454978560">October 23, 2013</a></blockquote>Tags: None -
Re: RIP Association Mode
MyGM is the only way to play NBA seasons on next-gen 2K14. No idea about online but apparently MyGM is pretty much the new single-player association; don't know how they relate.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
It's not dead, I think they are starting over with the mode like what EA did with Madden 13. I'm sure multiple team control will be back next year.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Honestly I'm so amazed with how this MyGM mode sounds I won't even care, if and only if online association is there.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Sucks but not a deal breaker. I like being able to update trades. I might just delay my season until after the trade deadline and turn the trades off (if possible).Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
I hope they add LOBBIES for ONLINE MODE. Wait...do they even have online mode?? It's such an important mode, why didn't they say something about it.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Association mode is not dead. It's now GM mode with all the extra features. You just can't control more than one team. The ability to control multiple teams may come back next year. So yes, you can still play single player off-line.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Yes, let's take one line, blow it out of proportion before even trying out the mode, and decide that this is a completely wrong direction (because working both on new features/concepts to expand the scope and realism in simulation is impossible, apparently), or even better, that Association is dead with MyGM.
...sigh...
I'm honestly very proud of MyGM. It has many of the elements and concepts I've been begging to see in Association for years. There's always going to be room for improvement, and 2K is showing a renewed interest in this very loved mode with this rebuild. And it's merely our first year of being able to harness the power of next-gen in improving all facets. It excites me that this mode that I can't stop playing (I was already putting 400+ hours per year in Association as a gamer up to July when I was hired) is merely our first iteration of something we can build on to make even greater in future years.
Honestly, I can't wait for you to try it and give us your feedback. And I promise to keep working based on the community's feedback, especially in MyGM. Yes, I know there are things that have seemed off in the past, I know there are things we can always improve. And I'll be here, to renew the discussion from the position of the developer and hear all you have to say after you try it out.
It's not the end, it's a new start. A great base to enjoy and work on for years to come.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou
