The big question I'm still hoping to see answered is if Online Associations/Leagues are completely gone for next gen systems. This new mode sounds like it could be amazing and I do look forward to trying it but the primary reason I buy the game is to do leagues or seasons with friends.

Re: RIP Association Mode
For those curious about MyGM mode, know this. I only covered about 5% of what this mode is at the press event. This was a bigger media event, one where a large number of the attendees aren't exactly highly interested in the meat and potatoes of a mode like this. I simply provided an overview of what our philosophy was.
We'll be going into MUCH more detail (you know I will take care of you guys here) on what we've done in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
The takeaway you should have right now is MyGM is Association on steroids. Multi-user had to take a backseat for a minute while we rebuilt the entire foundation of how a franchise mode works. I assure you, this is all for the greater good. Leftos and I will make sure you're all happy at the end of the day.

P.S. For those who aren't into the concept of interacting with staff, players, etc., a Season mode (with variable season lengths) IS available so you can just focus on playing games and moving players around where you see fit.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Today as for the past 3 1/2 weeks I am not surprised that my question is the only question that has been overlooked and unanswered yet again. It is obvious then to me that when asking anyone that works at 2k about FINALLY having an accurate roster set and to unlock and unhide all the players (especially current players, either free agents or in teams training camps) there is simply no answer as to why they lock and hide players to begin with. Since any answer I'll get after this post will be more of the "company line" answer, I'll just be knowledgable to the fact that 2k will NEVER have an accurate roster set in their game that corresponds to the NBA official team rosters. They will continue to hide and lock players while leaving players who have not played in the league for 2-3 years unlocked and available.
The simple fact that we know that you 2k hide and lock players on the game disc and that we can find a way to unlock and unhide them should tell you that $60 for you product, might be asking a bit to much especially when you withhold stuff on the game disc from us.Eaglerock562

Re: RIP Association Mode
I apologize. I just hope importing teams into a mode was not excluded. For the past 3 yrs importing teams to my association was definitely my joy!Last edited by midwestking100; 10-24-2013, 05:01 PM.Comment

Re: RIP Association Mode
Yes, let's take one line, blow it out of proportion before even trying out the mode, and decide that this is a completely wrong direction (because working both on new features/concepts to expand the scope and realism in simulation is impossible, apparently), or even better, that Association is dead with MyGM.
...sigh...
I'm honestly very proud of MyGM. It has many of the elements and concepts I've been begging to see in Association for years. There's always going to be room for improvement, and 2K is showing a renewed interest in this very loved mode with this rebuild. And it's merely our first year of being able to harness the power of next-gen in improving all facets. It excites me that this mode that I can't stop playing (I was already putting 400+ hours per year in Association as a gamer up to July when I was hired) is merely our first iteration of something we can build on to make even greater in future years.
Honestly, I can't wait for you to try it and give us your feedback. And I promise to keep working based on the community's feedback, especially in MyGM. Yes, I know there are things that have seemed off in the past, I know there are things we can always improve. And I'll be here, to renew the discussion from the position of the developer and hear all you have to say after you try it out.
It's not the end, it's a new start. A great base to enjoy and work on for years to come.NBA 2k18 Roster:
