Was it just not feasible to do this year?

Does anyone know if we can still play all games on the schedule?

Sounds like MyGM mode is basically what nba 2k4 / 2k5 had so far, only more focused on 'emotion'..sounds pretty weird and not exactly what I had hoped for. When will 2k finally give us total control over a franchise??

        Re: RIP Association Mode

For those curious about MyGM mode, know this. I only covered about 5% of what this mode is at the press event. This was a bigger media event, one where a large number of the attendees aren't exactly highly interested in the meat and potatoes of a mode like this. I simply provided an overview of what our philosophy was.

We'll be going into MUCH more detail (you know I will take care of you guys here) on what we've done in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

The takeaway you should have right now is MyGM is Association on steroids. Multi-user had to take a backseat for a minute while we rebuilt the entire foundation of how a franchise mode works. I assure you, this is all for the greater good. Leftos and I will make sure you're all happy at the end of the day.

P.S. For those who aren't into the concept of interacting with staff, players, etc., a Season mode (with variable season lengths) IS available so you can just focus on playing games and moving players around where you see fit.

Will the Season mode only last, well, one single season? If we want to use an uploaded 2014 draft class and go through multiple seasons, would we have to go the MyGM route where we have use a fake GM and continuously decide which players to make happy and which to make sad? Or are there also options to turn those aspects off?

Holy cow, I thought there wasn't going to be a season mode. That makes me feel 10x better. I can wait till next year for 30 team control, if I can at least play any game I want on the schedule. Great news!

So in this season mode is it exactly the same as the one in the current generation? Can we adjust all the rotations and everything? Can we customize the season to put the teams we want in?

                  Re: RIP Association Mode

I actually like/love the new conversation aspects of the mode. I like the known but I must be honest I'm more afraid of the unknown with the mode right now so I have to control my urge to judge until atleast next week. I never was a control every team guy but just reading through these comments I completely never realized all the flaws other players claim happen.

5% is such a small number...I can only hope 95% of the unknown makes me feel as optimistic as I feel about the MyCareer mode, That mode looks to be #Boss. Unfortunate for me I'm still primarily an Assoc/MyGM kinda guy and I'm on edge as to how great GM mode is going to be and what's left to be announced.

                    Re: RIP Association Mode

2K should have bolded and put in huge font that Association isn't dead, the only difference is you can't control every team.

From what I've gathered. We are getting a vastly improved Association. (what peoople have wanted all along) we just can only control one team, and that's fine with me.

But Association is far from dead, because it looks like that confused a bunch of people on here, who didn't read, or just misinterpreted.

                    ASSOCIATION IS NOT DEAD There...

The interaction of Leftos and yourself regarding our concerns is something I find very encouraging. I must admit that the lack of a multi-user association almost completely deflated all of the hype and excitement I have for this game, simply because the very thing that I enjoy doing year after year after year in NBA 2K won't be available in this first next gen iteration; which otherwise looks amazing. I think we do all appreciate the interaction of you guys and even more, the consideration. Clearly you guys have limited time and resources and I now trust that perhaps the multi-user aspect is something that you just could not implement for this year.

If it is possible to meet us halfway on this, many of us who regularly select 30 teams in Association mode do so to avoid computer transactions; some because they do not appreciate the AI logic, some because they try to mimic what is actually taking place in the real NBA with regards to roster changes... trades, rotations, etc. In addition to that, some of us enjoy playing other games on the schedule that do not necessarily include our selected team. I won't ask again whether we will have the option to play other games in MyGM(I asked a few times and got no answer so I figure maybe you guys can't or don't wish to address it at this time), but in addition to playing other games I would like to request that if possible, you guys at least allow us the same option to turn off computer trades and force trades as we have always had in the past, and the ability to edit other teams rotations. This is the most fundamental reason that I personally select all 30 teams in Association.

Simballer this does ease the pain a little bit lol. But here's hoping you guys bring back the ability to have a 30 team MyGM mode capability next year.

If it's a good feature then of course. But my point was it's a little bit wierd to not know what's in every single game that includes a franchise/GM type mode if you are in fact involved in the process of making such a mode.
