Most idiotic online game ever
2k whatever. The stupidity of the shot logic is just astounding. You can play perfect basketball using plays/screens/mismatches and get high quality shot after shot while your opponent comes down and quick shoots contested 3s and spams one on one moves against good on ball d. Guess which person the game favors? you can't because there is no rhyme or reason. Last game I had a guy hit 6 contested 3s with Singular, happened to be previously as well against Bennett from the cavs lmao, and in that game I went 1-7 with curry on all but one uncontested 3s. What logic? Do ratings even matter? Does shot contest matter?

I understand your frustrated, and I've been there so I liked this... But to call 2k unrealistic is just absurd. It's definitely one of the more sim oriented titles available today.Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira - UFC Hall of Fame -

Re: Most idiotic online game ever
Next gen consoles will be great for the forum, because there will be no reason to not post a video of your game with the new built in dvr system...and then the name of thread could be legitimately re named to most idiotic post ever...a feature that can be judged greatly by video is graphics, and if you can stand to look at NBA live for 48 minutes a game without your eyes bleeding, your a stronger man than I...lol...Comment

Re: Most idiotic online game ever
I like to play h2h and online because I em=njoy the competition. I don't even care about winning or losing. I just want the game to respect basic principles of fundamental hoops...Not reward boneheady arcade-ish gameplay.
THE problem with this game is that it ewards arcade play online and all but discourages fundamental realistic hoops. Its a terrible game online when you meet up with a player who decides that he won't run plays or do anyting other than dribble around the perimeter with Kirk Heinrich and pop CONTESTED threes possession after possession. Then to make matters worse when a shot is missed the rebounding logic is all screwed up because the offensive team gets their own rebound over and over for more 3's....its really disgusting and makes this game Unplayable for uys who want realistic online hoop.
I don't even care if a guy plays cheesy...I just don't think the game should cater or reward that style of play...SMHComment

If the ame plays great offline then it should play great online, right?...Not be some totally different experience that is dominated by foolishness and many things that are game killers.

Re: Most idiotic online game ever
I play online at times and I haven't lost a game yet. I run plays and arcade players get punished more than in 2k13 IMO. I have never seen the phenomenon you mentioned with good shooters going 1/7 unless you take bad shots. Fundamental basketball gets rewarded online.Comment

I don't knw if you realize or ever considered that some of us never play offline so Playing offline is not an option for many of us...I never play vs the cpu other than some practice or freestyle mode. These games and all of our tech devices these days are made to interact with others. No offense to anyone but sitting around playing a cpu and staring at franchise stats is not my idea of a good time. I don't want to play with MyPlayer or make hairstyles or body types and buy clothes and all that nonsense...I only want to play h2h and online...Thats all and I don't think thats too much to ask in 2013-2014

Look, most of my experiences with the 2K series have been online and I ran online franchise leagues for many years. I feel your pain but the factor that people need to consider accepting is, you can't control what other people do and how they play. You can find people who match your playing style in general but there will always be a few fundamental differences that typically seem to matter most in crucial situations. Those are the times that generate controller throwing moments and angry outbursts that involve the word "cheeser" or some variation of the idea.
I'm not against interacting with others online and do enjoy it myself from time to time. The thing I think is ironic is that people get so mad about how the game plays but don't want to put in the time to create an experience to resemble their perfect idea of what the game should feel and play like. Now I'm not saying this to or about anyone, especially not the OP. I'm just saying you have to know that it's a video game so when you are playing against someone who bends and plays 2K "like a video game" it still provides them with the experience they were looking for. When someone who knows basketball plays it as a simulation, it still provides them with the experience "they" were looking for. You really can't get mad because someone who is an arcade style player, is good at being an arcade style player.
What I mean by "create an experience to resemble their perfect idea of how the game should feel or play", I'm talking about the cpu and slider adjustments. You have complete control over that. If you want a true simulation experience, the cpu is programmed to provide exactly what you are looking for. Heck, they even pipe in real life player data to make the players mirror the abilities and tendencies of their real life counterparts. So if you are looking for technical simulation style play, you can't get any better gameplay-wise than playing offline. Now, if you are looking for head to head match ups with a human, you simply have to accept that everyone has their own idea of how the game should be played and that sometimes doesn't sync in user vs user online games and can actually basically break the programming balance and make the game rather unplayable at times.
I'm not arguing with you, I'm just adding to your perspective from mine. You don't have to agree with it, or change your mind about anything but just accept the possibility that there is an alternate interpretation of how things are and you make the choice of which one you accept as the truth.Last edited by Sovartus; 10-26-2013, 02:15 PM.These are my opinions based off of my perspective.
