The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Cool thanks for posting it here, for some reason youtube was telling me "sorry video requested no longer available" so i just assumed it had been removed.
Colour me impressed - that was by far the best vid we have seen of live 09 imo and looks like it'll be a fun game and at worst a nice change of pace from 2k9.
Yeah, I couldn't have said it any better, exactly the way I feel about Live now. That being said, I'm really looking forward to the demo.
The game looks better when there is video of it running
at 60fps, when people video tape it on a 2 megapixel camera, it does not lot smooth. The hooks in the paint ?the ball is to floaty.

It doesn't look all that smooth even in the videos from game sites.

Let me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
Passing looks absolutely horrible, the ball seems to be glued to the hands, blocking also looks bad, dribble animations look stupid and slow, I could go on and on but...
I'm impressed, but as others have noted, the game still has a little bit of quirkyness going on. The ball trajectory seems to be very stiff. The players aren't sliding much, which is nice, but they seem to lack aggressiveness.
I'd be very interested in seeing how EA goes about programming their games with animations because the animations have a very Madden-like look to them. It lacks the natural feel 2K has been able to produce.
I played lots of 08 and with this gameplay movie 09 looks MUCH improved. The rebounding especially looks good. Players just box out and grab the defensive board.
PS: I will give the people at ea one thing. They get the Raptors down to the T in Live. Everyhting from jerseys, stadiums, courts are all PERFECT. Thats how it should be with EVERY team in all videogames.

True, the court looks AMAZING. Although, the players really don't. I honestly can't tell who's who sometimes because of the player models in Live. I have no problem with 2k, they seem to get the likeness of a player so down pat it's scary! For example, I couldn't even recognize Calderon for a while, he certaintly didn't have a sig shot. The only player that I KNEW for sure was Moon, Parker, Bosh, and Durant. I found westbrook just because they had the name under the ballhandler. They made him look SO thin, its just very hard to decifier who's who in Live somtimes. And it's not my b-ball knowledge because I know pretty much every player in the NBA today.
i used to be a HUGE Live fan going back to the first game, then i switched to 2k in 2006 and haven't really looked back. i'm going to give this game a try because there are still things that really bug me about 2k:
the spacing
iso-motion doesn't feel right to me
lack of control and the animations
lackluster franchise mode
lack of separate layup and jump shot buttons
if Live is playable, then I'm going to probably just play that this year.
