I think we've been more than patient thus far with Live 09. I don't know about you, but my patience is starting to wear thin. It's starting to look like Live 09 was an unfinished product that was rushed to production. The fact that they still used the same player ratings since Live 07 suggests incompetence and laziness on EA's part.
Also NONE of the issues that the patch is suppose to "fix" should even have been in the final-released version of the game. Some of the stuff we're seeing are things I expect to see in a beta phase of the game.
Don't get me wrong, I like this game (after doing gameplay settings editing)....but it still doesn't excuse EA for another year of half-assing it with their NBA game.
Speaking as a long time customer (18+ years).....unless they (the NBA Live Team) change things next year, they're not getting my $60 anymore.

Forgive if I am late to the party but what is the patch going to fix? I have not spend a lot of time with Live 09. I have played random games here and there so I am not as familair with the bugs or problems with the games as others are.Comment

we already know that the patch has been submitted as stephenson has told us this and that its out of EA's hands at this point.
It took PS3 users to get the demo 3 weeks after the xbox version dropped.
We'll see what happens but if its out of EA's hands what can they do?Comment

(shrug) Nobody knows - apparently it's some sort of big secret.
The EA Developers who routinely post on here (and we appreicate that very much) for some strange reason have not said what is in the patch. (Or if they did mention it, I haven't seen it).
I have no idea why they can't divulge the info. My guess is that it doesn't addess the main gripes we have had, and they don't want to open that can of worms. I couldn't blame them if that's the case. I'm sure that's not their decision.Comment

LMAO!! They can try doing it right the first time around!!
It's a good game of NBA ball though...better than 2K in some aspects but more attention to detail is needed within the ranks of EAs NBA team & with a few upgrades/minor fixes I'd say we'll have our ULTIMATE NBA game next year coming straight from the studios of Electronic Arts!!

Agreed, but it you were in their shoes, would you want people bi&%$ng at you now, or later when the patch actually drops? Heh...
I just hope the patch does three main things:
1 - Fix the UN-fast break mentality of the CPU. Meaning, if there's an open lane, they take it to the hole!
2 - Allow for effective shot pressure. Meaning, if you're ALL OVER a guy, make it less likely his shot will go in. I constantly see the CPU drop crazy shots under duress.
3 - Better interior D. (ikinda piggy backs on #2) It's simply too easy to get into the paint and hit square and get a basket.
God if they fix those things I would be happiest Chairman in the world.

I agree 150% with ur guess as i think the patch will barely do anything otherwise the devs would be hyping up the work the team had done to fix everything and about how they are so interested in constantly listening to our feedback so im not expecting much at all from this patch and its gotten to the point where im actually starting to think if i should switch back to 2k9 for good now because honestly the 365 dna is nowhere near as advertised because i myself could have done a better job with the rosters and already have by far. EA claimed that they would adjust ratings and dna daily but now we find out that ratings will be adjusted weekly and they still haven't been touched yetComment

weedamus, beluba and stephenson didnt work on Live 09's gameplay like that though.. but they did try to address what they could in the patch from what they said.
...and if there are truly restrictions on how much information they can submit, the game will be what it is. If its not up to your liking, then get rid of it but coming here complaining about it everyday saying the same thing and not contributing to the wishlish or interacting with the devs is pointless.Comment

believe me i have tried to interact with the devs but they never answer my questions which are mostly about ratings so dont tell me that im just coming here and just complaining because everything im saying holds truth. i know about basketball man and it just frustrates me when you have a good system and dont even half way utilize it because u just dont put enough time into the ratings. and another reason it appears this way is because i haven't posted much over the years but i've been on here forever and have been doing rosters like pm forever but i really just started posting so it may come off as me complaining but u cant blame me for being frustrated with thisComment

There are some that arent, and whats the point
The whole bashing thing is old when you have somewhat of a voice
Im not sure what they can or cannot due with the ratings, but we do know that they saw the post and commented on it which could be good for 2010
At this point I dont think people can expect this game to be as polished as 2k9 is due to the fact that they've had years to work on that.. and even then they say nothing at all, but the posters took care of the ratings thing and the fans are gravy.
