Does live have 'shot stick?'

I haven't played live on this gen yet. Does live have shot stick or do we still have to press a button to shoot?

sorry if the question seems a bit strange. lol. just curious. thinkin about purchasin live..

thats only in 2k9 in live 09 theres a button for shotting and a button for dunking/layup

IMO the shot stick is over rated, I always just used the button anyways. Maybe on a fast break if I wanna switch it up and pull off a left handed layup or something I'll use it.

Why the sad face?

Shot stick for shooting is just unnatural unless it's for a layup mechanic and if we had full user control in switching hands or extending longer by flipping the right stick left to right or something.

It works well for NHL because it makes sense in controlling the stick, and winding up for a slapshot is a natural motion to flick down and then up.

For shooting, it doesn't make sense. It will be better used for dribbling or layup moves, like to control what hands to use.

I basically agree. It's more of a gimmick if you ask me...unless it's for what we described.

lol I loved shot stick. To me, pressing the button felt really unnatural while playing 2k. I never used the button.

Quick question, So what is the right analog used for ? I thought it would be used for size ups, but didn't they say you hold down a button, and move the left analog to command a size up move? so that leaves the right analog in mystery.

live's system is better - Live uses the right stick for dribble moves, which give you WAY better control with dribbling than 2k does. 2k's shot stick is a gimmick - it doesn't really give you more control, but it wastes the whole right stick when that stick could be used for something more valuable (like dribbling).

in live the right stick is used for dribbling moves (like spin moves and crossovers). the size up moves are just "stand-still" dribbling moves (like when a PG is dribbling to "fake out" his man before he starts to drive). The right stick is used to control specific crossovers and spin moves. Believe me - this system is WAY better than 2k's - 2k's dribbling system is a mess and it's torture trying to get the ball handler to do what you want in 2k, because they wasted the right stick on shooting rather than dribbling.

It didn't have it last year but something similar to it will be in this year. We know that the in order to dunk you need to hold rt trigger and press x while pushing the left stick towards the basket

I disagree, the shot stick made it much easier to shoot IMO. Usually in 2k the shot stick allowed users to get the ball out quicker during buzzer beaters, unlike when you pressed X or square they did a quick pump fake. I hated that. But I love the shot stick.

my thoughts exactly. Its easier to time a shot with shot stick. But I also agree with blues rocker, iso motion is kinda a pain to do. lol.
