Honestly, I had given up about 10 years ago.

2k had their chance with the arcade game they were supposed to release what, 2 years ago, and we have not heard a peep. That doesn't make them look like they could handle a sim style, even tho we all know they can.

Sure, the NFL cares about their brand, but 2 billion dollars IMO would make them look the other way. Sales are still too good, unfortunately, and it will take a massive shift for the NFL to open it up for competition.

I don't know why you do this to yourself, man. Every other month it's some video about a guy who thinks a game might be coming. Then the other months it's something from someone who says it isn't.

There's nothing else you can do but just assume there isn't a sim NFL2K game coming, ever. Then if it does one day, great.

I kept hoping the license deal with EA would end at some point but it never will, to much $$$$$ to be made. My big beef is why didn't 2K continue on with the All Pro football series? That was a good game , and if they improved it every year or two we would have an amazing game by now.

I would love another APF but I remember years ago 2k said they don't want to step on the NFL toes

I think the only thing that might possibly catch the NFL's attention is a massive outcry from fans. I know SOFTDRINK TV and some others have tried but nowhere close to enough.

People have just moved on man. Alot of people who fell in love with 2K5 or APF2K8 are just over it.

I don't think EA even lets 2K get close to the lobby of the building.

And the NFL has zero interest in giving license to 2K. The NFL just uses 2K as leverage to keep EA paying massive $$$ for exclusive rights.

It wasn’t a big money maker, that’s why. Without the NFL branding, most casual fans weren’t going to pick it up. Most people still pick up Madden so they can play with their favorite NFL team. Outside of that it’s just the small percentage of hardcore to highly interested fans that are going to play a non-branded game.

I still think a game like that could succeed if they went hard at marketing. They needed some cardboard cutouts of some retired players at gamestop and ads on buses. Commercials running on ESPN everyday. Add in some CFL rosters/XFL/Somewhat succesful minor league.

unfortunately some like that takes money, of lot of it comes from the sale of the game. 2k big seller now is obviously NBA 2k, and i doubt they use NBA money on a non licensed NFL game. It would be like the NBA using its money to help out the WNBA. I is a scam because that game had alot of great game play, even with the legends.

I can see NFL and EA to extend the deal relatively soon. The original deal is set to expire next year, with the optional extra year if revenue benchmarks are met. Almost no reason to think that Madden hasn't met those revenue benchmarks. Nowadays, companies don't really let deals expire unless they don't plan on expanding. For example, EA let the ESPN exclusive license expire because they didn't want to extend it. So, I can agree with Mike Straw that we might hear something this month. I don't see Fifa or NCAA license situation where EA didn't think it was worth the cost. I think EA knows the NFL(and NBA) shield is what sells. NFL has shown they prefer exclusive licenses. With exclusive licenses, it gives them more cost leverage and creative control.



I would love for the license to open up. Competition is good for both publishers and consumers. Heck, I would love for NBA Live to come back and push NBA2K. I just don't see NFL truly opening up. Nowadays the cost of development and license costs aren't viable options for most AAA companies.

It absolutely crushes me to accept that there will never be an option to playin madden every year for the rest of my life. I'm thankful I lived thru the awesome times though. Man I miss NFL 2K
