re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
I'm liking that we're under the radar this year.
Cowboys - EVERYONE is putting them in the Superbowl already
Eagles - Kolb was supposed to be the savior now the talk is Vick going to be tearing up the division
Redskins - Again people talking McNabb is going to show and prove and the squad is more competent than people think
Giants - Who? Oh yeah there is another team in that division.Comment

Some harsh words from Antrel Rolle. I think he's right, but he should have kept it in-house.

Man no love for the Giants up in here? Oh well, I like what I'm seeing for the most part with the Giants but it seems the attention span comes in bursts with this team and then just fades away at other times. They need to realize they're getting paid for the whole 60 not a good part of it.Comment

First place baby!! thats all i care about. And the Giants seem to have the best young recievers in the League(Jet Blue!).
HAkeem Nicks is a top 10 WR in the league.
Our D-Line is destroying QB's left and right and our running game is finally where i want it( Bradshaw starting, then when the defense gets tired bring in the big boy B. Jacobs!!)

What did you guys think about the draft? We definitely added more depth to the secondary and the Dline. I think Greg Jones was a steal in the 6th round and might replace Goff in the future.Comment

I think the Da'rel Scott pick up went very under the radar.
And I am not a fan of the Jarell Jernigan pick up.Comment

I kind of liked that pick. We need a backup slot WR just in case Smith isn't ready to go or get hurt again. Our offense went down hill a little bit when he went down. Thats when Eli started forcing balls to Manningham and Nicks resulting into bad picks. I really wanted to see what Cruz was going to do but he got put on IR early in the season. Haha! But I seen a few games with Jernigan and he's a good slot WR with speed. I think he will change your mind once you see a little more of him this year. What did you think about the Greg Jones pick? I thought it was a steal. He was rated the number 2 MLB behind Martez Wilson for a while. I was suprised he slipped that far. I definitely think he will snatch up Goffs spot after a while. We need Simtim to step up this year for real. haha!Comment

re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
The reason I dont like the Jernigan pick is because it loads us up on that position.
Nicks
Smith
Manningham
Barden
Cruz
Hixon
and now Jernigan?
It seems pretty forced. And we havent had a good track record with sub 5'9" receivers, Sinorice Moss cough.
And with Martez Wilson available at the time, I didnt get it. We need big time line backers on this squad. It has been out weakest position for years.
But in other news, I dont get why people give the Giants so much flack for not getting a top offensive linemen. Since when have we had a weak offensive line? The whole line got banged up last season and we still did work on the ground and only gave up 16 sacks. What we need is for Eli to take his game to the elite level. He already got a 30+ td season under his belt, multiple 4000yrd seasons as well. Now he needs to put it all together and drop the int number down big time.Comment

Yea I hear ya about Eli. I really believe he would have had a great season if Smith didn't get hurt and the young backup WRs(Cruz, Barden) also the amount of time Nicks missed too. Calhoun and Hagan was not the answer. haha! Thats when Eli started forcing balls to Manningham and Nicks on top of the 6 dropped passes that resulted into picks because he was looking flawless up until smith got hurt but we'll see what happens this year. But I agree we do need a LB for real. I keep trying to give Boley a chance and he looks Ok early on in the year then fades later. Clint Simtin needs to really step up this year. But like I told you I like the Greg Jones pick. I really think he might be able to step in a grab Goffs spot.. I'm going to be paying close attention to that.Comment

re: Official NY "IN THE COMPANY OF GIANTS" Thread
Greg Jones is small and late round linebackers arent too successful in the league. I hope hes see some action. Our starting linebackers look to be Sintim Goff Boley. That worrys me. We cant keep up with the speed that is coming to us late in the schedule this season. And our safeties give upp way to much over their heads. Ugh I could go on and on.
As far as Eli goes. I feel that mentally he has taken himself to the upper echelon but circumstances have mad his stat line look bad this past season. Two years ago he put up 4,000yrds 27tds 14ints. He did good things but the INTS went up. He's had to play with random guys catching the ball and still did a decent job in my opinion. If our guys stay upright this year and the defense stops decent offenses, we will do some things.
I am excited to have Jernigan returning kicks for us. Lord knows we need speed on kick returns. His shiftiness will do wonders for us. And I think his presence will cause a current player to be cut. My money is on Barden and Cruz. Steve Hakeem and Mario need to stay giants for a long long time.Comment
