MIT Research Survey Explained

Hello Friends,

Many of you this week noticed postings for a study that we are currently running at MIT. We are researchers at a game research laboratory at MIT studying the design, player communities, and experiences of video game players.

First, we apologize for posting to multiple forums, though we did so for good reason. We are trying to get as many respondents to our study and we want the respondents to represent a diverse field of sports video game players. To have posted in only one forum would have skewed our demographic.

We were banned for excessively posting, but fortunately we were able to communicate with the website administrators who reinstated our user id and will be graciously helping us to garner more survey respondents.

Please help us by taking the short 5-10 minute survey! Simply follow the link to:

http://gambit.mit.edu/sports

If you have any questions about the survey you can reply on this thread, send us a direct message here, or send an email to [email protected].

Thanks!
Abe, Mia and Konstantin

Just to let members know, this is legit. Approved by Steve.

Give it a look if you can.

Good to see the right thing was done in this occasion.

I hope you guys get some really good information. I've already run the survey, and I'm sure a lot of the guys here are willing to do so as well.

Re: MIT Research Survey Explained

It's really short and asks a lot of the questions I think many of us here wish more people asked when it comes to video gaming.

Yeah, I'd seen a few deleted threads including one by Steve that said "looking into this". It's a good survey with good questions and I hope the OP's get good results for their study.

Re: MIT Research Survey Explained

Just did the survey, seemed to be standard fare for the most part, but the last question sure brought back memories for me.

Re: MIT Research Survey Explained

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. We'll be sure to post where we publish results once they are compiled and analyzed.

And yes, thanks to the moderators here for the help in getting respondents. Great community.
