Re: Ebola
I know they keep saying it's all safe blah blah blah, but man....if even ONE person taking care of someone with Ebola gets it, we're all screwed.
Fortunately though, it seems the highly experimental medicine that the two people were given has worked VERY well.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I feel like somebody is playing a very special version of

Plague Inc: Evolved is a unique mix of high strategy and terrifyingly realistic simulation. Your pathogen has just infected 'Patient Zero' - now you must bring about the end of human history by evolving a deadly, global Plague whilst adapting against everything humanity can do to defend itself.
That medicine they are giving them is some neat stuff, antibodies grown in genetically modified tobacco.Comment

Re: Ebola
I wouldn't say we're all screwed since it's not an air born thing and the only way to contract it is through feces or an open wound and you come into contact with it, or at least that's what I thought I heard.Comment

Re: Ebola
I read somewhere that in a controlled lab they had ebola spread from pigs to macaques without having any contact. I'm sure Burghfan probably knows where to find that because I can't seem to find it.Battle.net: xXKING08Xx

Re: Ebola
I thought it could be transferred through any bodily fluid, including sweat.
From the WHO
Ebola then spreads in the community through human-to-human transmission, with infection resulting from direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and indirect contact with environments contaminated with such fluids.Comment

Re: Ebola
I read somewhere that you can get it through the air as well.
No physical contact needed.
Dont remember where Ive read it though. It could be this particular strain that makes it different. Not sure.Comment

Re: Ebola
It depends on the strain and this one dosent seem to be airborne. However, viruses do tend to mutate so you never know.Jacksonville Jaguars
