In 2016 - What´s your favourite 2K game and why ???

I know we had a poll years ago...but after time passing by and next gen isn´t that exciting as it should be , I´m still sticking with 2K.
My fave is still 2K10. With right slider setting and current rosters( thanx to you dedicated fanatics) there is no better simulation out there. The key why it still stands out today is gameplay, gameplay, gameplay. The detailed arenas + custom music and the presentation still gets me sucked into the virtual NHL experience.
Number two would be NHL 2K8. I love the presentation, the deep franchise mode and the goalie A.I.
And last but not least I would put NHL 2K6 on the list. Imagine the presentation with next gen graphics...It would kick EA´s butt.

Other faves of mine : NHL 2K3, NHL 2K5

2k8 is my favorite. This game was so close to being a grand slam. But I think 2k panicked when the reviews werent as positive as they hoped. I really like 2K10 as well. This game will kick your *** if you don t play properly. Finally I really like 2k9. This game was dismissed outright by everyone. But the AI is fun to play against.

Nhl 2k10 xbox 360 edited rosters and the patch for me was the pinnacle of the series, the game got a lot of things right and the only gameplay flaw was that defenseman NEVER rushed the puck up ice, they always passed before or as they hit the red line. But other than that it was a great game all around.

2nd favorite was was nhl 2k5

Still leave towards 2K10. The arena look the play by play and goalie saves. Top notch. Sure 2K7 has the best A.I. I will give it that but the play of 2K10 is still better then the newest EA has to offer !!!! I hope 2K gets back in the game.

It does the little things soo well. All the arena details are awesome. Download the newest roster update from TSOLEliot, create authentic custom music and you´ll get your hockey fix. Even the physics are great....this came out 2009....It´s lasting....

2KHS, because of AI, it feels even a littlebit more like real hockey than 2k10 felt.
It's awesome, what they did with the Ai. Even with some obvious flaws in defense, that remained unfortunatelly.

Just booted up 2K8. Actually not too bad at all... Goalies way better then EAs current offering.

I'm thinking about picking up an old hockey game. How is 2k10's franchise mode. Is progression/regression okay? how about A.I. roster management? are there any drawbacks to the mode?

Progression is so so. The game itself still plays very very well. Graphics aren't that bad and you can get a roster on here that's 98% perfect. 2017 but the ages are a little off due to the 7 year age.. I play it all the time still. Love it.

If you want a EA sucks break it is the game I recommend.

My favourite NHL 2K game is NHL2K8. The gameplay was fun and the commentating team was great. (Bob Cole and Harry Neal)
